Its not selfish really, to pray for ourselves, as when we are strong and healthy as Christians in mind body and spirit, are we not then more able to help others and serve the Lord?

I was thinking of asking members here to post bible verses and positive love and support for others who need to pray for themselves.

Because I think that calling on God for help is always going to be a good thing.

Ephesians 3:14-21
14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Mathew 6:7-13
when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Pray then like this:

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

9 Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

23 Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you.
24 Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.

the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified

God incarnate saying to ask
Hi Rosejoy, such a thing is TRULY wondrous indeed (and nearly unbelievable, when you stop and consider who the Lord is addressing but, God is love :amen: .. 1 John 4:16).

Jesus said pray simply, since God already knows your needs.

Matthew 6:9-13 (the words of Jesus):

Pray then like this:
"Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."

Words in bold are prayers for ourselves that Jesus told us to make.

Edit: I see several other people got in first.
