A prayer to be grateful

Just had a talk with my aunt who raised me.She lives overseas.
She has more of a life than I do.
Pilates classes, nutritious meals, weddings to attend, meals with friends, visits to the theatre....
It's a bit hard not to feel resentful when I compare our lives.
Please pray that I won't compare my life with anyone else but just be grateful that I have a roof over my head , salvation ,food on my table and I am not in hell.

Yeah.At the moment that just sounds like Christianese.
Been unhappy for the last 18 years and when I do get happy for five minutes some jerk comes and snuffs it out.

Welcome to life friend. Nowhere in my bible does it say it will be easy, Jesus says He came to bring division and as such we suffer persecution.
However The end result is that it will all be worth it all because of His love, That is really all that matters anyway.

Well , perhaps I could add to my prayer request that I need to grow in my love and faith.I often doubt His goodness and even His existence.And it feels sometimes that my life is more difficult than other people's.I have a hard time accepting the apparent inequities that exist - even among the people of God.Reading YouTube comments doesn't help either.

This one's request is a good one, Lord. 2 Corinthians 10:12 comes to mind. May they read it, memorize it, and use it to remind themselves of what they already do regarding comparing ourselves to others. May we be content in being the unique person You have created us to be; and live pleasing in Your sight, thankful of what we already have, and will one day have in glory. Philippians 4:11; 1 Timothy 6:6. Amen.
