Have there been any times in your life where you gave a stranger the benefit of the doubt and allowed him/her to do something for you or vice versa?

My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor,
have given your pledge for a stranger,
if you are snared in the words of your mouth,
caught in the words of your mouth,
then do this, my son, and save yourself,
for you have come into the hand of your neighbor:
go, hasten, and plead urgently with your neighbor.
Give your eyes no sleep
and your eyelids no slumber;
save yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
like a bird from the hand of the fowler.

~Proverbs 6:1

There is an example we have in Abraham. The great father figure that he was, he did not consent to trusting the people of his day to take land from them for free. But he measured out the money and paid for a burial place even though they all loved him and told him that he could have it for free. Abraham was wise and knew that not all things as they are today will remain through to the next generation. He ensured for all time that his sons could have a burial place with no chance for contention or loss in the future. Genesis 23

Wow. Good insight and wisdom there. I have to say I wasn't really expecting that. Good stuff :oldthumbsup:
