I've drank milk before ... many times

Yet I don't know what milk tastes like.

Can you make sense of this?

----------------------------------

Soy milk, duh. Because drinking dairy milk is a sin.

"For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe." - Hebrews 5:13

Well they say you can't legislate morality, but if God can put the Ten Commandments on His books, then we can surely put Prohibition on ours.

In short, when the LORD returns, I'd like there to be some legislation on our books against certain sins.

What if He returns and tells you that drinking alcohol isn't a sin?

In short, when the LORD returns, I'd like there to be some legislation on our books against certain sins.

There are plenty of countries in the world where alcohol is either completely illegal or heavily penalized. Saudi Arabia, for example, has--I believe--a complete ban on alcohol because as a Wahabi nation it insists that all citizens be Muslim (specifically Sunni of the Wahabi school). So I figure if you're looking for a religion that bans alcohol and want to live in a country that bans alcohol, you got yourself a pretty good double deal here.

But the Christian religion doesn't, and never has, have or had a problem with alcohol consumption, though temperance and moderation are virtues to be cultivated in all things. Likewise, as a secular nation the United States doesn't observe religious laws or mandate any religious teaching in its legislative process as this would be a violation of the First Amendment.

Which means that if you want a religion and a nation that is going to ban alcohol, then being a Christian in America is pretty much the opposite of what you're looking for.

I'd believe Him.

But I would ask Him to show me in His word where I went wrong.

And when He shows you Matthew 15:11, and asks you why you didn't listen to his servant, TLK Valentine, what will you excuse be?

I'd tell him to take a hike.

Something like "I drank wine, I even held a cup of wine and said it was my blood, and to do this for the remembrance of me. What more could you have possibly needed as proof?"

Forget it, Crypto -- AV has already rejected God in favor of himself -- I doubt we can talk sense into him at this point.

Right.

Forget it, Crypto.

Unless I acknowledge that TLK is God's servant, I'm rejecting God.

Well, for the record, Christians rejected Mohammad as God's prophet, I suppose I can reject Valentine as God's servant.

AV puts his own opinions over God's words... why is that so hard to believe?
I'm sure, English professor, you noticed I did not capitalize "him" in that post?

I wonder why I did that, eh?

Just so we're clear:

Is is disbelief that God could use the unwilling and/or unaware for His purpose?

--OR--

Is it envy that He would use me and not you?
