Selective focus at work?
I'm believing you can see it was about principles of power & authority & not mechanics of physical facts.
His Word declares that it is physical fact that His created heavens circle the earth once a day -24 hour day- from the beginning of creation when the heavens were not even stretched out from this earth yet, nor named, nor was the dry brought forth from the waters of this earth yet, nor named, but right there in the beginning, the heavens that would be stretched out were circling the globe of waters. Then the waters of this globe were cut in two, and the expanse was stretched out between them, and named heavens.
It is physical fact that the waters are still above the stretched out heavens.

It is physical fact that within the circle of the heavens the sun circles the earth once a day, in its own peculiar orbit.

I'm sure I'm wasting time with this (you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink), but here it goes :)

You have to understand Yeshusavedme that the bible is not a science text book, and in fact there are not so scientific accurate things in the bible (such as verses in the bible which support an ancient world view, such as the earth not being a sphere, and the earth not rotating around the sun, etc). But you also have to understand that being 100% scientifically/historically accurate is not the main reason of the Bible, and for whatever reasons, God chose not to use the bible to preach science (doesn't explain to the people the actual shape of the earth and that it rotates around the sun, big bang, age of universe/earth, etc).

You really have to understand the context/culture of the people writing the bible, and understand that God gave the authors certain freedom in what to put into the bible, which is why we find ancient understands of the world within the bible, which now are shown to be inaccurate.

Treating the Bible as if it was actually 100% written by God himself and is 100% literal in everything it states (instead of looking at other possible interpretations for said verses) is causing you to become very ignorant.

Please us the sense of reason/understand within the brain that God gave you :)

And with that amazing reason you can use the power of SCIENCE (which we only have because God allowed it, we wouldn't have science if we did not have the kind of brain we have) to see that the Earth (and other planets) rotate around the sun. And if you do that, im sure you could find other truths about the universe that you originally ignored/denied because of your previous interpretation of certain verses.

Of course you are probably going to ignore any sense of reason and chuck misinterpretations of bible verses at me in the name of your war on the findings of modern science.

And just for fun......

...
God wrote the generations/toledot of the heavens and the earth in the Scripture of Truth in heaven, before even He placed Adam there.

Adam was in Paradise in the third heaven and read the Scripture of Truth there about the beginnings, before he was made.

God wrote it from His POV.

Wherever the Word of God says: "Thus saith YHWH", you better believe it is from His POV, and is totally scientific.

Please show me one thing in the original language of the Word of God where He says "Thus saith YHWH" that is "now shown to be inaccurate".
The Bible is a collection of manuscripts including "Thus saith YHWH"; recorded histories; and wisdom. The wisdom was not esp God's, but wise sayings of men. There is a book of Wisdom that Jesus refers to, and it is the Book of Enoch, but the wisdom books in the Bible are men's wisdom, and are wise, but not all applicable to all persons in all situations, as Job's friends are shown using the wisdom parables in ignorance, though what they are saying is recorded parables and wisdom, it is not God's wisdom.

Just one, please -and thank you.

I disagree with YSM too but there are not unscientific facts in the Bible. There are misinterpretations of the Bible based on not reading it in context. It never says the earth is flat. The 4 corners of the earth was a phrase used to describe different places in geography. It is part science book, part history book, but all a spiritual book. Since it is only part a science book it only gives the details necessary to gets its point across.

Yes, and it gets those points across the divide between God's P.O.V. to mankind's P.O.V.
Which requires simplification, not lying.
None of us have accused God of that.
While I absolutely love loyalty, I despise blindness.

Flat Earth - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. It does not state outright in the bible that the earth is flat but there are hints they thought it was flat. I'm sure you can find pics on the
internet of ancient Jews version of the earth.

Jipsah, you have no credibility to call the science of the movement of the heavenly bodies "bogus".
Sure i do. God's design for the heavens is right above us, displayed for all to see. It's easy to observe that "Enoch" says stuff about God's Design that are simply and visibly untrue. The "science" alone is enough to discard "Enoch" as the crock that it is.

It can be tested and observed as true
Precisely the opposite. Observation has proven again and again that "Enoch's" description of God's Design and God's Law governing the heavens has nothing whatsoever to do with reality.

, that is, until "the earth is moved out of her place, jumps about as a hunted roe, staggers as a drunken man, and is turned upside down"
Sixth Grade Poetry, Simile. C'mon, let's get beyond that level, shall we?

, and "the stars fall from heaven"
Zat like what we in the South call "shooting stars", aka meteors? (Hint - it doesn't imply that they carry guns.) Lightning bugs don't create lightning, either. ;)

The trick is your whole position is based on "Enoch", and "Enoch" is observably false. There's really no way to salvage it.

The Word of God declares that the earth is the center of the creation, and the heavens and earth are of a piece, and the heavens were stretched out from the earth on day 2 of creation week, between the divided in two waters of creation.
The early Church "Fathers" completely agree with the Word of God on the geocentric creation.

You know what I think, I think you would really like to see Christians argue against things the Scriptures are silent about, that's what I think. Most astronomers before the invention of the telescope thought the sun revolved around the earth because that's exactly how it looked. The Scriptures teach nothing of the sort and I think people who want to belittle Scripture use outdated issues like this one as a straw man.

You know how I know the difference? Someone who cared what the Scriptures had to say would quote the Scriptures and this is the key, they would actually understand what they were reading.

If this had any bearing on sound doctrine you would have seen a New Testament witness for it just as you do for the creation of Adam and the global flood. I don't think you care what the Scriptures say or what the early church fathers believed, I think you just like making Bible believing Christians look foolish.

Prove me wrong, tell me plainly what the New Testament witness is regarding creation.

Have a nice day :)

You should not tell such false tales, which anyone who reads my posts knows are false -even if they falsely accuse me, they know, if they read, that what you say is not true, and to attack me knowing that is not true, is vile..

Enoch and the Torah and the prophets correlate perfectly. In fact, Revelation is not understood unless one has been made familiar with Enoch.

Isaiah 24:
16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.
17Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.
18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.
19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the Lord of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

The tribulation time -when the great harlot, Babylon of mystery, is destroyed and never rises again:

13 The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.
2 Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
3 I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the Lord of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
5 They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the Lord, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
6 Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
7 Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:
8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
9 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
14 And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.
Mark 13:

24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

Which correlates with Enoch:
The Sin of Mankind Affects the Heavenly Bodies
2And in the days of the sinners the years shall be shortened,
And their seed shall be tardy on their lands and fields,
And all things on the earth shall alter,

And shall not appear in their time:
And the rain shall be kept back
And the heaven shall withhold it.
3And in those times the fruits of the earth shall be backward,
And shall not grow in their time,
And the fruits of the trees shall be withheld in their time.

4And the moon shall alter her order,
And not appear at her time.

5And in those days the sun shall be seen and he shall journey in the evening on the extremity of the great chariot in the west
And shall shine more brightly than accords with the order of light.

Revelation 16: 8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

6And many chiefs of the stars shall transgress the order prescribed.
And these shall alter their orbits and tasks,
And not appear at the seasons prescribed to them.

7And the whole order of the stars shall be concealed from the sinners,
And the thoughts of those on the earth shall err concerning them,
And they shall be altered from all their ways,
Yea, they shall err and take them to be gods.
8And evil shall be multiplied upon them,
And punishment shall come upon them
So as to destroy all."

Your opinions are without merit.
And the Scriptures are not silent about the creation of the earth as a globe of water with the heavens as powers not yet stretched out between the cut in two waters of creation -stretched out from this globe named Earth.

And the telescope was invented from ancient times -and reinvented in more modern times. You should learn history.

There are ancient Ica stones inscribed with men looking at the heavens through telescopes.
There are ancient Minoan art works with men looking through telescopes.

There is nothing new under the sun, and whatever is today has already been done by those who came before us, and there is nothing new that man can say "this is new" for it has already been done; but God sets man back with dark ages on purpose, so that we do not annihilate the race by our evil inventions before the seed are all born who are written in the Book of Life, and who must come forth in their season and be sons of God -by the adoption.

Robert Temple is not a Christian and I do not link this for any purpose but to show that history proves you in error. I own a copy of this book. Look on the cover and see the ancient telescope being used:

Welcome to the home of Robert Temple - The Crystal Sun - The Sirius Mystery

Of course it's a physical fact. We physically see it that way.
Again, no one denies this.
And now that we are physicaly advanced enuogh in our ability to see, we can see it is equally physically true that the earth revolves around the sun. The truth doesn't change, but our perception of it can mature.

What's obvious to me, is the limitations on your perspective.
That is a good list JacobLaw pasted, and not even all inclusive, but Psalm 19 in the original Hebrew is -in English- "set tabernacle sun": [He hath]set [His] tabernacle/dwelling place [in the] sun.
The ancients understood that God said in many places that His tabernacle is set in the sun, so the Greek Septuagint, the Latin Vulgate, and the Douay-Rheims English all translated that Hebrew to the same as the Hebrew says: "He hath set His tabernacle in the sun" and the sun runs his course through the heavens, coming out of his portals like a bridegroom and rejoicing to run his course like a giant, from one end of heaven to the other, and nothing is hid from his heat.

QUOTE=yeshuasavedme;Your opinions are without merit.
Flattery will get you everywhere, eh?

.

And the telescope was invented from ancient times -and reinvented in more modern times. You should learn history.
How about telescopes in orbit?

There are ancient Ica stones inscribed with men looking at the heavens through telescopes.
There are ancient Minoan art works with men looking through telescopes.
How many of them were earthcentric?

Robert Temple is not a Christian and I do not link this for any purpose but to show that history proves you in error. I own a copy of this book. Look on the cover and see the ancient telescope being used:

Welcome to the home of Robert Temple - The Crystal Sun - The Sirius Mystery

It looks interesting. Is Mr. Temple earthcentric?

I do not know. He deals with history and what the ancients believed and accomplished -esp in light technology.
He is not a Bible believer, but is actually a brilliant man with a quick wit and who is a pleasure to read, and is an historian who can read many languages -and has an extensive ancient manuscript collection in his library.
I have his book in my library because of the recommend of it by a Creation Scientist speaking on the ancient technology of man, and when he once lectured, I wrote down every book he mentioned and bought every one of them.

It isn't the words I deny, it is the lack of sense you make of them:
Sense:
6. Meaning; import; signification; as, the true sense of words or phrases; the sense of a remark.
example:
So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense. Neh. viii. 8.
I think 't was in another sense. Shak.

No sense in moderation, eh?
It just seems to me that if earthcentrism was a fact, some unbeliever somewhere would espouse it, especially for God to rebuke us stubborn hardheads.

That's a deception straight from the mouth of the father of lies, who said to Eve: "has God really and truly said"....???? "Let me tell you what God really means...."

That is a prime example of oversimplification & demonization.
