Dear Tellastory,

You said:

"#2) Being around "holy rollers": inviting them into your home or going to that kind of a church where they preach receiving the "Spirit" again after a sign or any of those healing crusades that promote healing directly by the Holy Spirit as if by descending on them in a spectacular way in some sort of sensation in the flesh. Don't go there.

#3) Fellowshipping with those in the occults. Don't do that. You can witness to them, but keeping company with them is not wise."

You seem to equate people who experience the in-filling of the Holy Spirit as in Acts chapter 2 and who believe in Divine healing with those who are involved in the occult. May I tell you with all love and caring that you are treading on dangerous ground. There is an occasion in the New Testament where people committed the "unpardonable sin" by attributing the things of the Spirit to the devil. Be very, very careful. I caution you with love.

You also said:
"The Holy Spirit is the Comforter as dwelling within us: not the Mediator as being at that throne of grace as being inbetween us. That's the Son's job."

Scripture says: "Not by might, nor by power, but BY MY SPIRIT, SAYS THE LORD!" By limiting the work of the Holy Spirit to simply dwelling in us to comfort us you are saying, "God, I'll let you do this much, but no more." That is very sad. He is a BIG, BIG GOD!!

The Divine healings that take place ARE the work of the Holy Spirit. I have experienced healing in my own body and I have prayed for people who have been healed. I don't roll on the floor or bark like a dog. I believe that the Holy Spirit is to be reverenced and stood in awe of. He is precious!

Sometimes, there is no physical sensation at all, because God can do what He wants. Sometimes, there is a feeling of electricity running through your body. The feeling is wonderful. Not scary. Definitely GOD! Definitely Good! Sometimes, there is a warmth in the area that needs healing, sometimes not. But the Holy Spirit is the One who does the Work of God. No one else.

The Holy Spirit is the same as the Spirit of Christ and the Spirit of God. God and Jesus are ONE because they share the same Spirit. And because, when we talk to the Holy Spirit, we are talking to God, we talk to Him in Jesus' name.

Jesus said, "I send you another Comforter." That word comforter in the original Greek means "Advocate" somewhat like an attorney. If you didn't talk to your attorney, your case might be pretty limited. God doesn't have a problem with us talking to Him in Jesus' name, whether we talk to the Father, the Son, or the sweet Holy Spirit. They are ONE.

Akira,
If it is a physical phenomenon and has no spiritual cause at all, it doesn't matter of which faith you are because prayer would not be nessesary....in a few minutes the completely physical phenomenon passes...no harm is done . You already know that no harm comes to you, because nothing has harmed you in the past when this occurs. We must use common sense and wisdom regarding these things. Did you read the medical page I posted?

yes, know that with the REM Phases and so on. Im aware of whats going n, but that doesn't change the fact that i feel extremly bad when it happenes and when i pray to my Kami and Ancestors it calms me down during that. You know what i mean?

Yes I know what you mean. Akira However, doesn't it give you lasting peace to learn by looking back to the other times this has happened, that "nothing" harmed you? Doesn't that knowledge alone give you peace? When you stop panicking over it, it may even stop altogether.

I am not going to comment on your faith. I have grace for you.

I've been having tormenting thoughts but never dreams & visions. I thank The Lord for you! Amanda

There are ways to stop those thoughts. You can look up what the scriptures say about each thought. The Word is the truth, and is a living word that has the power of God in it that goes beyond intellect. Gods truths disarm the enemy.

@clay and Telestory. God the Father, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all forms of God the Father...the three fold Godhead....the Holy Trinity. There are forums on this website for theology discussions if you are interested.

It depends, sometimes i just think...oh not again and wait till its over. But sometimes the pillow is close my face and i getbthe feeling that i can not breath properly and then panic rises automaticly. And then i need "support".

I still remember when i had it first time... it was few years ago and in Japan we have our beds often in one room. both my parents, my siblings and i were sleeping. At morning they woke up and i was sleeping. I woke up too but...could not move. I heared what they talked, i saw them but i could not move. I was so scared and desperate and wanted to scream for help. I remember my mother went next to me to grab something from the floor, and she suddenly touched me and boom i could move. She said she saw in my face something was wrong.

Akira, I have experienced much the same thing you are going through. As well as panic attacks. Being a Christian gives you some weapons to protect you against the paralysis and the fear. One of those weapons is the name of Jesus. Just repeating His name can cause the fear to diminish. The Bible says, "The name of the Lord (Jesus) is a strong tower. The righteous (those who are in right standing with God) run into His name are are safe."

John chapter 3, verse 16 in the Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, (Jesus), that whoever believes on Jesus will have eternal life."

Jesus came to die for us so that we could be free from the ownership and control of the devil and his evil spirits who want to attack us. If we ask Him to come into our lives and save us from our sins. He will do so.

The Bible says: "If we confess our sins to God, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to wash away all unrighteousness (sinfulness.)

After you receive Jesus as your Savior from sin, you have access to His power to set you free from nightmares, paralysis, and fear.

I worked for a Japanese bank in Seattle for 11 years and am somewhat familiar with the Shinto religion. I will tell you what I told my Japanese bosses. "Every day with Jesus is a 'lucky' day!" You can walk in peace every day. One of the names for Jesus is Prince of Peace. It is a wonderful life!

I know it must be miserable for you. I do think that you really should see a doctor to eliminate petit mal epilepsy. A petit mal seizure is the term commonly given to a staring spell, most commonly called an "absence seizure." It is a brief (usually less than 15 seconds) disturbance of brain function due to abnormal electrical activity in the brain. The tesing for it is easy and not painful. I hope you can go to talk to your doctor about it, so you will have "full" peace of mind.

i think it is genetic reason as well. sleeping paralysis is extremly common in japan. We have the highest percentage of it worldwide. Almost evryone of my friends knows it and fears it. It is so widespread in Japan that it is part of our culture and legends. I was at doctor, my sister too and my grandma has it too as well as my grandpa. And they said there is nothing you can do, just get use to it.

Was the doctor a medical doctor of western medicine? Do these same relatives have a tendency to panic or have anxiety too?

It was normal doctor. And no, none of us has a tendency of panic or anxiety. There are a few paralysis hotspots worldwide. Its in Japan, Nigeria, Korea, Switzerland and Philippines.

Have you done research to discover what each country thinks the cause is? Do they think there is a spiritual link/belief that these countries have in common?

What is a "normal" doctor to you? Did this doctor test you or your relatives for epilepsy?

I think the only spiritual level is to Korea, since they are similar to Japan in culture. The rest...i think its genetics, not even close with us, but that specific thing. Amd no, nobody has epilepsy.

What I said about God the Father and God the Son and God the Holy Spirit is Truth. I disagree with you that Jesus is The Father. He is God, but He is IN the Father, because of being ONE with the Father through the Holy Spirit. In Jesus dwells all of the fullness of the Godhead, bodily.

I would like to say that because I've dealt with it for years I became use to it. I did a lt of research as well and once I understood what it was I wasn't scared. Sometimes I would just let it happen and I would get into stages where I would feel my soul lift out of my body and have an "out of body experience" but this is when things would feel eerie. I know what it has to do with my REM sleep but it doesn't stop the feeling of darkness time to time when your in that state. I've been woken up in my sleep hearing " I am satan" I've hear growls. I've heard "we almost got her" as I play pull and tug with my soul. I know I've opened doors before so I believe it may have something to do with that and not just science. Even if I relax my state of mind. Still occurs. Even when I've praye to Jesus, the demon would laugh and taunt me.

Felicia, the Blood of Jesus is a strong weapon against the devil. The Bible says that we "overcome him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony." When you hear those words from the devil tell him, "I belong to Jesus Christ. I have been bought by His blood. Get away from me and go back to Hell where you came from, in Jesus' name." If the devil resists, plead the blood of Jesus against him. Pleading the blood of Jesus gives you immunity against the attacks of the devil, somewhat like pleading the 5th Amendment of the United States Constitution gives you immunity against self-incrimination. Pleading the blood of Jesus legally binds the devil away from you.

I have used this powerful weapon against the devil and he has left me alone. You are not alone. Jesus has overcome the devil and "Greater is He (Jesus) Who is in us, than he (the devil) that is in the world."

@ Clay,

IF you want to talk about this further, we can do so privately, so as to not distract or dilute Felicia's thread.

Philippians 2:5-7
5 Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, existing in the form of God, counted not the being on an equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men;
John 1
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men..... 14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us
