Christmas eve or Christmas day

When do you open your presents?

  • Christmas eve- we like to get an early start

  • Christmas day- It's the only way

  • I'm an orphan child and every year bears destroy my home and eat my presents.

  • I don't celebrate Christmas and you are worldly and unChristian for doing so *glares disapprovingly*

When do you open your presents? Please refrain from stretching your view to knock the other view and declare anyone that doesn't agree with you a bad person, Christian, and doomed to fail in life and lead all their future children astray and best friends with satan. That said Christmas day is the only way ;) .

Ah ha, but when do you open your presents on Christmas Day? :p Is it in the morning first thing or do you wait all day?

I always open mine with my family systematically going around everyone and appreciating what people have got rather than just all tearing in and opening stuff. When we actually open the presents on Christmas day depends on church times and things.

We open gifts out of our stockings on Christmas Eve and open all other gifts on Christmas morning. Growing up, we usually opened all presents with my mom on Christmas Eve and my dad on Christmas morning since they divorced when I was 5.

Usually I open one present on Christmas Eve (usually a minor one). This year, I just wasn't that anxious. Even with a couple feet of snow, it just doesn't feel like Christmas yet, perhaps because I just finished my last classes TUESDAY.

Totally Christmas morning. If you open them Christmas eve you set flowers on fire and hate puppies. JUST KIDDING! JUST KIDDING!

Only mum opens prezies Christmas eve and thats because its her birthday!

So she does nothing on Christmas Day? Why not just get double the presents?

We usually open ours in the morning, around 9 or 10.

We do the same, but by "systematically going around" I mean, "three people." I couldn't imagine opening presents around more people. Or would the same amount of presents be split between more people?

The options are limited.

We do whenever. Sometimes in January.

Year-long Christmas! ^_^

We open gifts out of our stockings on Christmas Eve and open all other gifts on Christmas morning.

The stockings are the first things we open.

When we go over to my grandparents' house on Christmas Eve, we open the presents from our extended family (only my mom's side, though) - there's 16 people that usually are there, and the only thing is that most of us wait for all the presents to be distributed before ripping into them.

Christmas morning we open the ones from our parents and each other (meaning siblings). Again, waiting until all of them are distributed before opening, and stockings come first. Normally my parents get us up around 6 or 7 in the morning, although I got up at 5:30 so I could have my coffee in peace. There were a couple years that it got delayed till 8 or 9, though.

Then, we open more in the evening when we go over to my uncle's house and visit with my dad's side of the family.
