Yes, geo, it has been known for a long time, at least here in NY. Also the "wonderful" show "P--- Christ" where urine is used. The worst thing, in my opinion, was the elephant dung on the Madonna at the Brooklyn Museum, which is subsidized by NYC. When Mayor Giuliani tried to have public money removed from the museum for its decision to continue the display it. They claimed it wasn't right (and won) for the city to pull out its money and took NYC to court.
Many lapsed Catholics argued it was freedom of expression. I argued two things: 1. How my money should not go to trash. 2. How they would feel if after donating to "x", they stopped, and "x" sued them for failing to contribute. Most of these sleeping Catholics felt slapped with the latter and realized that no one can sue someone for "failing to donate"!
