There is a play going around right now called Corpus Christi which is a contemporary retelling of the story of Jesus and his disciples as gay men. This upsets me so much I don't even want to post links for it, you can find it on Google. All I could find were gay websites promoting it. My blood is boiling on this one. We really need more protests against this filth.

Here's one page with some info on it:

http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/petition/gayjesus.htm

(Mostly that page is about a related hoax about an "upcoming film" portraying Jesus and his disciples as gay, but if you scroll down to the bottom there's a bit of info on Corpus Christi.)

Yes, geo, it has been known for a long time, at least here in NY. Also the "wonderful" show "P--- Christ" where urine is used. The worst thing, in my opinion, was the elephant dung on the Madonna at the Brooklyn Museum, which is subsidized by NYC. When Mayor Giuliani tried to have public money removed from the museum for its decision to continue the display it. They claimed it wasn't right (and won) for the city to pull out its money and took NYC to court.

Many lapsed Catholics argued it was freedom of expression. I argued two things: 1. How my money should not go to trash. 2. How they would feel if after donating to "x", they stopped, and "x" sued them for failing to contribute. Most of these sleeping Catholics felt slapped with the latter and realized that no one can sue someone for "failing to donate"!

I know what you mean, but the reason society is changing is because no one hears our protest. Outrage seems to be limited to the few. I'd rather argue a point than ignore it and let it slid. In addition, when it comes to my taxpayer money, you bet I'm going to protest my friend.
