• {15} According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.

• Note here that those living will not precede those who died. Also it will not happen till the ‘coming of the Lord’. The coming is referred to, not a rapture or translation that would be separate from the coming.

• {16} For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

Yes I agree also. Matthew 24 is not the rapture where one is left behind. It is referring to God's wrath, which Christians will not suffer. After God's wrath, the birds are called to feast,Rev.19:21"... the fowls were filled with their flesh", just as in Matthew 24 posted previous page.
Rev.16:15-"Behold I come as a thief".

Hear are a few verses, that will point you in that direction. You won't find the word rapture in the bible. We are looking for the 'end' and the 'resurrection'.

(Mat 24:3 NIV) As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

· We see in this verse that his coming and the end of the age are closely related, by the question of the disciples and the fact that Jesus does not correct that idea!

· Jesus hasn’t left yet, and the disciples already want to known the details. This conversation is told in private, it was for his closest followers to know only. Jesus in the following verses will not be trying to deceive his own disciples. I don’t believe he leaves anything out. Jesus doesn’t know the day or the hour himself, so he will tell them as if it could happen in their life time.

· (Mat 24:6 NIV) You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

· Are we to be looking for the end, or an escape that’s well before it? There are many verses which imply the writers of the New Testament were looking for the end.

(1Peter 4:7 NIV), The end of all things is near.

(Mat 24:13-14 NIV) but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. {14} And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Instead of holding on till the rapture, fight till the end!

(1 Corinthians 1:8 NIV), He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(John 6:40b NIV), .... and I will raise him up at the last day.

· Look at Martha’s faith in the story of Lazarus.

(John 11:23-24 NIV) Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." {24} Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."

· Even Martha knew her brother’s resurrection would come on the Last Day, or at the end. She failed to realize Jesus Is The Resurrection. Jesus did raise Lazarus from the dead that day, but Lazarus did not get his glorified body and at some point latter he died like all men do. Jesus never corrected her theology concerning the order of end time events or her faith in the resurrection at the end. As a good shepherd He should have corrected her if she was wrong. She wasn’t a Pharisee, she was His!

You won't find the word rapture in the bible.
"Rapture" is from the Latin "rapiemur," which is how the old Latin translation of the Bible translated "caught up" in 1 Thessalonians 4:17. But many Christians believe they will be "caught up" all the way into heaven at Christ's coming, and that this will be before the great tribulation, when the Bible doesn't teach either of these things. It says that Christians will be caught up into the clouds to meet Christ as he descends at the 2nd coming (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17), and that this will happen "after the tribulation" (Matthew 24:29-31).

As I understand this concept, it's addressed to Christians who are looking for the rapture or the second coming, when in actuality Christ's coming is going to be in His saints before He comes for His saints.

Hello all; I believe that many christians will live through the tribulation, and those with patience, will come out of it. I don't hold on to the hope of being "caught up alive" with Christ. We are told in Luke 21, to pray always that we will be counted worthy to escape all of these things that will come on the earth. I honestly worry for those who think otherwise; that they are safe because they say the name of Jesus; that christians will not have to face any persecution, or choice of God, or even death. We are told of all these things. We are told to settle that within ourselves before this time comes, so that they holy spirit will give us a voice to speak in that time. How would any of you feel, if you had been "left behind" and not "raptured"? Would you pray harder or would you be angry with God? I think this is important. If we are not taken immediately (as some believe) but are made to suffer, isn't that glorious in the eyes of Jesus, because he too was rejected and denied by this world?
Too much emphasis is placed on pieces of scripture, when we should be recieving the message that Jesus gave to us as a whole. We are told to prepare ourselves. Spiritually. And that means talking about this with our families, and our children. Yes, (We) may bear witness to the beginning of the end, but our loved ones need to know what to expect, and how to handle it. Trust in God. It is okay to be afraid. This world is changing rapidly, on a daily basis. God bless. Wildfire

(Rev 3:10 KJV) Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

This promise in Revelation in no way implies a bodily removal. Of the seven churches in Revelation, the Church of Sardis is given this promise. If it meant the rapture, the other churches were left out.

The Church of Sardis is told in verse 2 to wake up. If they don’t wake up, Jesus will come to them as a thief. Jesus only comes as a thief to the Christian if he is sleeping. Here again we see they are told to wake up or he will come as a thief.

The word keep means to protect or guard.

Strong’s;

5083. tereo, tay-reh'-o; from teros (a watch; perh. akin to G2334); to guard (from loss or injury, prop. by keeping the eye upon; and thus differing from G5442, which is prop. to prevent escaping; and from G2892, which implies a fortress or full military lines of apparatus), i.e. to note (a prophecy; fig. to fulfill a command); by impl. to detain (in custody; fig. to maintain); by extens. to withhold (for personal ends; fig. to keep unmarried):--hold fast, keep (-er), (ob-, pre-, re) serve, watch.

(John 17:15 KJV) I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
• The word keep is the same word which means protect or guard. The very context of John 17:15 is that Father God will not remove us from this world, but still protect or guard us.

When I become afraid, and I’m sure I will, I’ll remind the Father of his Son’s prayer. Keep and protect me Lord, especially if your not removing me from this earth.

(2 Th 1:6-10 NIV) "God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you {7} and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. {8} He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. {9} They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power {10} on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you , because you believed our testimony to you."

The end, judgement, Our rescue come @ the same time according to this verse. I'ts simple once you quit listening to men and just read without any predetermined opion.
