We reap what we sow.
"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, and he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life." (Galatians 6:7-8)
We are choosing what we sow, all the time. And then there will come the reaping of so much more than our little seeds which we did choose to sow.
So . . . where are we investing our attention, all through the day?? Are we choosing to be submissive to God and prayerful so we are doing what He in us has us doing?
"for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13)
Or, are we depending on our own human free wills, and getting frustrated and nasty and controlling as we try to force what we dictate?
In Jesus, we become more and more gentle and humble and all-loving and generously forgiving. And we tenderly share with one another and grow in family relating with one another. We treasure loving as family, not living in isolated self-controlling without submitting to God in His peace >
"'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:29)
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)
How we are becoming is how we will reap ourselves to become for eternity. In the resurrection we will be multiplied greatly in how we have been becoming with God in His gentle and kind and pleasant and pure and soul-resting love. Or we will be vessels of the other stuff which is going to hell, God's dumping place for what is not His love. Therefore, Paul says to put away that stuff and become like Jesus and share as His family >
"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:31-32)
Do not choose to try to negotiate with and satisfy that nasty demanding emotional stuff, but choose God to put it away, and invest in becoming His way in gentle and kind love all-loving, pure, affectionate in family caring and sharing, how God changes our character so this is how we will be for eternity with Jesus and each other.
