In the last days on the brink of the return of Christ to gather His People, there will be wide spread apostacy in religion wherein they will speak as though they honor the Lord Jesus Christ, but in reality they dishonor Him in His Person and Work, and deny the Saving Power of His Death. Paul writes 2 Tim 3:5

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

They deny the Power of Godliness by denying the Saving Power/Efficacy of the Death/Blood of Christ. This they do by teaching that sinners Christ died for remain lost and condemned. This teaching is a great dishonor to the Person and Work of Jesus Christ. I will in this thread post scriptures that Testify to the Saving Death of Christ, yes His Death in and of itself, secured and brings about the Salvation of each and every sinner He died for, namely His Elect, or Sheep or His Church !

First lets look at Peters writing to believers here 1 Pet 2:24

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

The baring of our sins and His stripes are one and the same, which resulted in being healed. The word for healed iaomai means:

  1. to cure, heal
  2. to make whole
    1. to free from errors and sins, to bring about (one's) salvation

Yes it means to bring about or accomplish or effect ones Salvation ! Thats what His Death did for them He died for. Thats why they became believers, Salvation causes belief in the Truth 2 Thess 2:13

But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Yes, this is the theme all throughout Romans, as well, that a new righteousness, apart from the law, is given us we now enter union with Him, enabled to walk by the Spirit, under grace. And so if we're not living righteously, doing good, overcoming sin- not loving, IOW- then we must not be His, not walking by the Spirit, not connected to the life-giving Vine.

So do you believe this will occur, be caused to occur unto everyone for whom sins He bore ? Yes or no

I believe Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. Some of us will turn to Him and remain in Him, while others will not. The rest is pretty much hypothetical.

Apparently Peter didn't get your memo. He told the Jews who killed Jesus that God sent him to bless and to turn EVERY ONE of them from their iniquities.

"To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away EVERY ONE of you from your iniquities." Acts 3:26

Yet not all of them were turned from his iniquities. Please stop pitting the Scripture against itself.

Yes, that's a good way to put it. And I assume that all of us will have at least some surprises at the end of the day :).

Peters Testimony is in agreement with the Prophet Isaiah on the Saving Efficacy of the Death of Christ Isa 53:5

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Healed means to be saved, to have Salvation effected !

Christ Death , stripes Justified before God and Reconciled to God those He died for because it made Peace with God for them. Again Isa 53:5

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Eph 2:14

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Col 1:20

And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

This Peace is is the consequence of being healed by His stripes and Justified and reconciled. We cant have Peace with God and be unreconciled and unjustified !

I believe the Godhead does nothing ineffective.

Those for whom he died will be saved.

He died for all, and wants none to perish.

While He could squash us like a bug, God really, really covets a will oriented to Him; the right use of our freedom. And He draws us by His grace to do that but refuses to overwhelm our wills, for His purposes and our highest good.

Another scripture that teaches that Christ's Death alone saved, justified them He died for is Rom 5:19

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

To be made Righteous is Salvation Isa 61:10

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord , my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

And this being made Righteous in Rom 5:19 is the consequence of the Sole Obedience of Christ, the Obedience of One wrought it and applied to the account of many !

And since all men without exception aren't made Righteous, Christ's Obedience is limited to only them made Righteous !

He also wanted Pharaoh to let his people go, but hardened his heart so that he would not.

Keeping in mind that "all" can mean:
1) all without exception, or
2) all without distinction.

The NT makes clear which one is the meaning (the second one).

He also wanted Pharaoh to let his people go, but hardened his heart so that he would not.
And it says Pharoah also hardened his own heart-so we have a both/and situation, that needs to be properly understood such as with these teachings:

600 To God, all moments of time are present in their immediacy. When therefore he establishes his eternal plan of "predestination", he includes in it each person's free response to his grace: "In this city, in fact, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place." For the sake of accomplishing his plan of salvation, God permitted the acts that flowed from their blindness.

1037 God predestines no one to go to hell; for this, a willful turning away from God (a mortal sin) is necessary, and persistence in it until the end. In the Eucharistic liturgy and in the daily prayers of her faithful, the Church implores the mercy of God, who does not want "any to perish, but all to come to repentance"

I don't have a 600 and a 1037 in my Bible.

Nope, you don't have Institutes in your bible either but I'd bet it's impacted your theology. Either way, both our catechism and Institutes claim to render correct understanding of revelation, as you do yourself. Anyway, with the quotes I offered, you can have an expanded understanding now based on the wisdom of Christianity as it's been passed down through the centuries.
