Is your view that Christians shouldn’t be involved in research involving animals?

Nah mate, the universe is their 'god', and always has been ever since the sickening 'Space race' when the US and Russia tried to outdo each other by giving 'offerings' to it like big cash and animal sacrifices (many animals died up there, for example google 'Russian dog Laika')

Well, the Soviets sent animals into space with the intention of allowing them to die. But the Soviets were officially atheist.

The US did not launch any animals into space with no intention of recovering them alive.
Some did die early on, and the high risk was recognized, but that was not intentional...those were considered failures because the intent was always to perfect live recoveries.

So, I presume you're also a vegan, otherwise there is a lot of conflict in your philosophy. That's okay, but let's put our cards on the table.

This is a debate that continues within Christian circles, not to be resolved in a debate about space travel.

With all the money that people spend on Star Trek movies and memorabilia it sure seems like they're worshiping Star Trek. You seem to be dangerously close to idol worship yourself.

Ah, now I've got it, you're just being hypocritical. If you're a fan of it it's fine, if you're not it's idol worship. Perhaps you should review the manner in which you categorize things.

Being hypocritical is fine, everybody is to some degree or other, but it's also something to make note of, lest we incorrectly judge others.

Christ, yes. Christians, and that silly book that they keep using to judge people with... not so much.

I tell you what, put the book aside and I bet that you could still be a really, really decent guy... just without all the condemning your fellow humans to hell bit. Or are you particularly fond of that part, because some people sure seem to be.

The Space Force is already in operation...it was not deactivated when Biden took office.

However, the Space Force does not have (and there are no current plans for them to have) weapons in space. That would break a number of international treaties.

(Personally, I think an agency that can't "kill people and break things" shouldn't be classified as a separate military armed service, but that's just me.)

(Also, it would be possible to position satellites in space that fire purely kinetic weapons--"kinetic energy" weapons--that would be simple iron rods of maybe a hundred pounds each that would gain the energy of a 500-lb bomb through gravity acceleration. Such a crow-bar launching satellite could be easily disguised and undetectable even in use. But it would still be illegal under current international space treaties.)

I disagree and it worries me when a person is unable to see goodness if it does not have the correct label.

If there is a God and if man is heading to a horrible eternal fate, then what is really good but that which addresses the problem? Vacuuming a carpet in a room on the Titanic might be sort of a 'good' thing. The real good thing would be getting on a life boat
