  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Families of Israeli hostages to file war crimes complaint against Hamas in The Hague

Over the past four months, lawyers for the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, which is representing the hostages’ relatives, have prepared a legal submission demanding that arrest warrants be issued against the Hamas leadership for the October 7 atrocities.

The complaint will include charges against Hamas leaders of “kidnapping, crimes of sexual violence, torture and other serious allegations,” the forum said in a statement to the press.

ICC prosecutor seeks arrest warrants for Hamas and Israeli government officials

The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court said Monday that he was seeking arrest warrants against senior officials in the Israel-Gaza conflict, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leader Yehiya Sinwar, on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

This isnt going to happen, but I would like to see Israel set up camps inside it's border for women and children only. There it would be a lot easier to get supplies, food and medicinal care rather than into Gaza where Hamas can steal it. Limiting the camp to women and children also prevents Hamas from hiding there as well. No men allowed would help Israel feel safer about it as well.

Why in the world are these people doing there? It just helps Hamas.
In faithfulness to the commission of Jesus, the Anglican Church has for more than 100 years run Hospitals in the region, to care for the sick and the dying, to uphold the cause of the Gospel, and to proclaim liberty to the captives. Why I might ask would you have a problem with that?!

They can get out those people out of there.

And I am sure the Churches could freely bring people out if they wanted to get out.
what makes you sure that churches are in charge of Gaza/Israeli exit/entry permits?

If it is a prison it is because of Hamas. They could gain it if they were sincere. Israel, has been very good about doing such things. If Israel could it would.

Why remain in a war zone?
I suspect a firm handle on the Theology of the Incarnation might let you answer that question. The Word became flesh and pitched his tent in the midst of us. This is the Church being true to her vocation.

Makes no sense. Hamas did wicked acts... Will do so again when they have the chance (they said so)
Num 16:23 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
24 Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
25 And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.
26 And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.

I would have been more interested if you addressed the proposition that was put. We are indeed children of a new covenant.
