Let`s say the universe is really 14 billion years old, why haven`t an civilisation manage to make technlogy to find us? It`s been 14 billion years, and no aliens can find us ... We went from the old days, to explore space in just 50-100 years, think about 14 billion years then

The most common Christian theory is that there are no aliens, the universe is only 14,000 years old, and God made the universe at its vast size and scope just to flex on us.

Alien life forms would just be too disruptive to God’s plan of redemption, especially the events of the Book of Revelation. What good is judging unbelievers on the earth and inflicting plagues on them if they can just catch a ride with their alien buddies and just go to another planet?

If you were looking for a Christian answer to your question, there you go.

Well, I am a Believer and I don't think there are any alien life forms either. I'm not saying scripture absolutely, positively rules it out, just that it doesn't make any allowance for it either. The bible tells a fairly simple story, actually. God created the universe and then created a unique form of life in His own image to populate it. The whole concept of aliens, while interesting to think about and entertaining in movies, is based not on any belief in divine creation but in evolution. It argues that if life evolved here on earth, it probably evolved in a lot of other places, too. The bible clearly states that God created mankind. Period. Without the theory of macro-evolution, there is no scientific necessity anywhere for life to exist on other planets. My belief is that there isn't any intelligent life on any other planet because God never created any. The bible pretty clearly defines and lays out His plan for all time, eternity past to eternity, and all of it hinges on His creation of man in His image.

They're scared of water and baseball bats, so they avoid us like the plague. ;)

Good question. Not even to exploit us. Are we just not worth the bother?
I've heard that when Aliens ride by the Earth, they lock their doors!

This is the Fermi Paradox. It's basically summed up as "Where is everybody?" when looking at the universe.

There are, quite literally, several hundred different proposed solutions.

The most basic is that there is nobody else. We're alone in the galaxy, or even in the universe.

Other solutions basically get grouped into categories based around the rarity of life/intelligent life, the vast scales involved (distance and time), limitations in physical capabilities (travel and detection), limitations in recognition (both them and us), factors inhibiting expansion or detection (cultural/psychological, economic or social) and a mind-melting array of doomsday scenarios (everything from natural extinctions all the way up to the Dark Forest and planetarium hypotheses).

Here's something to consider:

Modern humans have been around for ~300,000 years. That's 0.0066% of the time the earth has been around and 0.002% of the time the universe has been around. And, we've only been able to write things down for ~5,000-7,000 years

The signals broadcast by our own civilisation are likely only detectable out to a distance of about 1/2 a light year. That's about 0.0001% of the volume of the Milky Way galaxy.

1. You cannot imagine that some civilization is searching for us for 14 billion years. It was the beginning of the universe, not of life or of civilizations.
2. The universe is really big. We lived on this planet for millions of years and we discovered how our own world looks like just few centuries ago. We still did not manage to visit even our closest planet. Its quite a slow process.
3. Not every civilization may be interested in searching for other civilizations. Some may be even interested in staying isolated or hidden.
4. We may be already "found", without us knowing about it or misinterpreting it (gods, angels?).

Out of 14 billion years mulitcelled organisms has only been around for the last 600 million years.

Interesting point
Aliens may not be male and female, they may not have a left and a right side like we do. They may not look like us at all. In the movie contact there is a universal language so it maybe possible to communicate with them. But evo devo says the laws are the same so they would evolve and look the same as us.

So you think the angels maybe aliens ? I have very often thought this myself as I don't believe that aliens exist the way we imagine them to be.

Evo devo says that the laws are the same everywhere in the universe so that aliens would be very much like us. So they would have the same limits as we have. In the movie contact Jodie Foster used worm holes to go to other planets.

I tend to believe the 'Dark Forest' hypothesis as a possible answer to the Fermi Paradox. Here's a quote from Cixin Lius's book The Dark Forest (Book 2 of the Remembrance of Earth's Past Trilogy)

“The universe is a dark forest. Every civilization is an armed hunter stalking through the trees like a ghost, gently pushing aside branches that block the path and trying to tread without sound. Even breathing is done with care. The hunter has to be careful, because everywhere in the forest are stealthy hunters like him. If he finds other life—another hunter, an angel or a demon, a delicate infant or a tottering old man, a fairy or a demigod—there’s only one thing he can do: open fire and eliminate them. In this forest, hell is other people. An eternal threat that any life that exposes its own existence will be swiftly wiped out. This is the picture of cosmic civilization. It’s the explanation for the Fermi Paradox.”

Not really, people like to collect and they like to show off their collection. If you find what they are looking for they will be glad to give you a finders fee. For me it is as if they are clumsy offs banging around making more noise than they should.
