Why can`t an alien race find us after 14 billion years?

Who says they havent! Who knows for sure?
Did you ever see the program: "My favorite Martian"? How much more do we need to know that people come from Mars? That is right up there with Ed the talking horse. Of course horses talk.

Same reason you will never receive a toy from Santa, they do not exist.
Santa is fiction, Saint Nicholas was a real person and a real Saint.
  • Historical Background: Nicholas of Myra, also known as Nicholas of Bari, was a 4th-century Christian bishop of Myra in Lycia, a region of modern-day Turkey. He was born around 270 AD and died on December 6, 343 AD.
  • Reputation: Known for his generosity, kindness, and the many miracles attributed to him, Nicholas was particularly noted for his secret gift-giving. This trait led to the legend of Santa Claus, which is inspired by his life and deeds.

The story of the socks is a true story. The kids in the orphanage would wash their socks and hang them by the fire to dry. He would put fruit or candy in the socks if they were good. If they were bad he would put coal in the sock to throw in the fire. There was suppose to be some lesson about how we can be cleansed from sin.

That is fine if you are into dogs but everyone knows cats are better than dogs. Or if you're easy to offend and want a more diplomatic response: "It's great that you love dogs! Personally, I find cats have their own special charm and qualities that make them wonderful companions too."

Sadly, I suspect advance civilizations self destruct before they can find others in the vastness of space.

Another reason I suspect is that intelligent and capable beings like us might be a rarity. Lots of planets may have life but many struggle to evolve a beings that are not only just as intelligent/more intelligent than us but evolved a body pattern that can sufficiently manipulate the environment in order to create advance technology.

For example, dolphins are smart. They could very well someday evolve to be as smart as us. The problem is, how can they advance technologically wise with the body plan they have? The mechanisms for human success has more to do than just our advanced brains.

Humans are just one drop in the bucket of millions/billions of species that have evolved on this planet. I do not consider it unfeasible that many other planets much older than ours has life crawling/swimming around it, but hasn't quite yet evolved a species with the right combination of body parts that could possibly lead to advance technology to visit us.

Usually they eat dogs when they are drinking beer. I had to tell our niece that when she went over seas to work they ate her dog.

Let`s say the universe is really 14 billion years old, why haven`t an civilisation manage to make technlogy to find us? It`s been 14 billion years, and no aliens can find us ... We went from the old days, to explore space in just 50-100 years, think about 14 billion years then
They probably all went extinct. We are hopefully soon to follow.

I know and you could also know if you just believed in God's creation and not sciences fantasy creation.

We are not alone, as there are angels (fallen and elect) and demons.

There are probably a few real reasons intersectionally reducing the chances of mankind being discovered by another species:

1. Space is huge. Really huge. And as far as any science can tell us, nobody's spacecraft can exceed light speed.

2. Life is certainly rare in the universe, comparing the number of stars that might have "Goldilocks Zone" planets to the number of stars that certainly can't.

3. Technological life is certainly vastly rarer than non-technological life.

4. Technological life has some not-inconsiderable likelihood of wiping itself out or destroying its own environment relatively early in its existence.

5. They haven't had 14 billion years to find "us." For homo sapiens, it's only been a couple of hundred thousand years. If you want to talk about historic man, it's only been 5,000 years or so.

Personally, I think we're currently all alone. Our existence on this planet appears to have been the result of a string of extremely low probability factors. My Christian belief is that it is God's intent for humanity to have stewardship of all His creation.

I tend to believe the 'Dark Forest' hypothesis as a possible answer to the Fermi Paradox. Here's a quote from Cixin Lius's book The Dark Forest (Book 2 of the Remembrance of Earth's Past Trilogy)

“The universe is a dark forest. Every civilization is an armed hunter stalking through the trees like a ghost, gently pushing aside branches that block the path and trying to tread without sound. Even breathing is done with care. The hunter has to be careful, because everywhere in the forest are stealthy hunters like him. If he finds other life—another hunter, an angel or a demon, a delicate infant or a tottering old man, a fairy or a demigod—there’s only one thing he can do: open fire and eliminate them. In this forest, hell is other people. An eternal threat that any life that exposes its own existence will be swiftly wiped out. This is the picture of cosmic civilization. It’s the explanation for the Fermi Paradox.”
That would also mean they would have to seek out and destroy (as an "unobserved force") any planet that appeared to have the ability ever to sustain another species. They couldn't merely occupy that planet because that would make them twice as likely to be discovered themselves...they would have to destroy it's ability to sustain life.

With in the story of Remembrance of Earth's Past, where I got the Dark Forest quote, that is what often happened. An unknown alien civilization destroys Trisolaris (Alpha Centauri system) with a relativistic attack that causes Alpha Centauri A and B to nova. Later another advanced species decides to annihilate our system. However, instead of causing the Sun to nova, as the being observing realizes the gas giants could act as a shield, it releases the deadliest weapon of all, a dimensional strike, that crushes the entire Solar System into two dimensions.

The story is just science fiction. However, I tend to see the Universe as a Dark Forest. Maybe not as "dark" as Cixin Liu's version in Remembrance of Earth's past. The Dark Forest is based on the Hobbesian Dilemma concept. Similar to the concept of Thucydides Trap.

I look at all the "misunderstand" among Humans, the same species, and the violence it often causes. How much more so in the case of something that isn't even Human.

It is my belief that even though the Universe is a Dark, or at least 'Dim', Forest we have little to fear as I don't believe Humans will really ever leave the confines of the Solar System, and no other intelligent species (if they even exist) will leave theirs. Faster-Than-Light travel is fun for science fiction but is it probably never going to be a reality. Space is a deadly environment. I like the quote from the film Interstellar: "Millimeters of aluminum, that's it and then nothing, out there for millions of miles won't kill us in seconds."

The absolute size of the universe dictates that we are not alone.

God is creator of everything. His creation is beyond our understanding.

God gave us science too. He gave us knowledge.

You are tricked into thinking the earth is flat and other conspiracy theories. The Bible does not explain God's vast creation. It does not say the earth is flat. Its 'YOUR INTERPRETATION' of scripture that says that!!!

Science gives us as much if not more of a witness and testimony for God. The Bible is amazing that He is able to work through people the way He does. Science is amazing in the artifacts and natural evidence that God leaves for us so we can know what He does. Look at Ice Man. He was so well preserved that you can see what he ate for lunch.

1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.

Because they are built like cockroaches and it makes building spaceships impossible.
Highly intelligent little critters, just can't can't get here from there.
