The NT was written in Greek. The Greek phrase for "wandering stars" has already been pointed out to you and the actual Greek words can be seen in the link. From this phrase, we get the word "planet".

We were taught in school about Columbus & that before Columbus sailed the seas people believed the earth was flat and would fall of the edge. I remember saying to myself at the time, 'how could people believe such a thing, that the earth was flat' from there on (for some reason) this has always played on my mind.

People in Europe didn't believe the Earth was flat back then; they knew it was round (though obviously they didn't have as much proof as we do now), and due to various calculations even had a good idea of how big it was. The reason people were skeptical of Columbus's voyage wasn't because they thought the world was flat; they were skeptical because they had a good idea how big the world was and that a sea voyage all the way from Europe to Asia would be very difficult if not impossible due to the sheer distance. Columbus thought that the distance world was a lot smaller than people thought it was, making the voyage possible. Columbus was actually completely wrong about the distance and would've either gotten his crew killed or been forced to turn back... but it turned out there was a big continent in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean they didn't know about that was reachable, which allowed them to reach land.

The myth that people thought the world was flat in Columbus's day seems to have been the creation of Washington Irving who wrote a popular book about Columbus in the early 19th century that made this claim.

I have no idea what that means. I haven't said anything about perspective.

You saw the lines on the map I gave you. Are there equivalent lines on a flat earth map? If you are at any given point on the earth and you need to go somewhere then you give a map reference (the numbers I gave you earlier) then it tells you where on the map you have to go. In this case a pizza restaurant in Sydney. That way you can fix any point on the map.

How do you do that on a flat earth map? I presume that you could draw lines out from the centre like wheel spokes that would represent the lines running north/south on the map I showed you. And then concentric circles representing the east/west lines. These must exist in some fashion as you'd never be able to use map references.

I just haven't seen one. Do they exist? If they don't then navigation becomes impossible on a flat earth map.

It gives one creation account; another one is in Genesis 2, and Job 38-40 says quite a bit about creation too. Yet they don't tell us everything.


My whole point was that Genesis 1 does not tell us how everything was made - it doesn't really tell us how anything was made, only that God spoke and it happened.
So you can't tell me, from Genesis 1, HOW birds' feathers, fish scales, skin, fur, bones and so on were created. Our how God made the human brain, spine and nervous system. This is a simple fact; Genesis 1 simply does not say those things. I think the statement was made, "there is no mention of the universe in Genesis 1". No, there isn't. There is no mention of the human brain either, so presumably that means that you don't have one.

And your comment about saying that Jesus isn't enough because we look to biology textbooks for biological information and not the Bible, was ridiculous and unnecessary.

My saying that Jesus is not enough has nothing to do with biology. i made a very specific point with that thought. The point was that since the creation account God gives in the Bible is not enough for you.

So you leave The Bible to look for further creation answers/ beliefs. Then why stop at the creation account, why not also look for further answers/beliefs about how to have eternal life from other sources outside of The Bible. Like other secular religions, i mean you are looking to secular/worldly science for creation answers that you have to take on faith, faith in men (mostly atheist) scientist.
