I believe it has not changed, but the question really is, why should Christians deny a civil or non Christian marriage to the non Christian citizens of a secular state?
It's the re-definition of marriage that many Christians object to, but we are getting off topic.

That argument is vacuous, anyway. The definition of civil marriage was expanded to include same-sex couples. It had no effect on the definition and practice of Christian marriage. The good Christian people of Greece realized that.

Most of the good christian people of Greece would not support so-called same-sex marriage civil or otherwise.

I disagree that it should have been expanded to include same-sex couples. Call it what you want. It's not a marriage.

If they feel that strongly about it, they can put in new legislators at the next election.

Well, it is certainly not Christian marriage; your opinion about other kinds of marriage can be noted and ignored.

A marriage is between one man and one woman. As it has been from times immemorial. As it should be. I do not consider anything else a "marriage" regardless.

And then there are marriages where a man has more than one woman and even where a woman has more than one man, all sanctioned by custom and the approval of local religious authorities What you consider "marriage" to be is immaterial.

It's my understanding many people from Greece are very devout Christians. Unless that changed relatively recently.
And all these devout Christians support SSM enough to vote for it? I don't really know the details on how it all worked. But someone said it was a secular decision and not a religious one. So I don't know.

Not even the Czech Republic which is one of the least religious nations on earth.
From wiki:

'The Czech Republic is often considered the second most (Slovenia being the most[citation needed]) progressive former Eastern Bloc country in regards to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) rights.[2] In 2006, it legalized registered partnerships (Czech: registrované partnerství) for same-sex couples, and a bill legalizing same-sex marriage was being considered by the Parliament of the Czech Republic before its dissolution for the 2021 Czech legislative election, when it died in the committee stage. Now, in 2024, the bill is back in the Czech parliament waiting for the members of the Chamber of Deputies to take the vote.

Opinion polls have found increasing levels of support for same-sex marriage, with more than 67% of Czechs supporting the legalization of same-sex marriage as of 2020. Numerous Czech-based corporations have declared an open letter requesting same-sex marriage within the nation, which was sent on 6 September 2023.[3][4] The capital city of Prague is internationally famous and notable for its vibrant LGBT nightlife, community, and openness.'

Sounds like it won't be long. Begining to see a trend?

I don't know. When I was in 5th grade back in 2007, we had a student teacher that visited Greece. She explained that essentially that in Greece (Orthodox) Christianity was taught in public schools and was a huge part of daily life. Taking away their religious identity would be almost unheard of. The Greek students were actually shocked that religion wasn't taught in the USA in public schools.

@Bradskii My mother is 100% Czech, and my father also has Czech ancestry. Sad to see how far the country has come...sorry, I'm just rambling and getting off topic, now.

You just made that up. You obviously didn't check or you'd know that was an incorrect statement.

Fine. Most faithful Orthodox Christians who live in Greece would not support so-called same-sex marriage.

Am I more clear now?

No. Now you are resorting to fallacies. Apart from the fact that it's not down to you who is faithful or not.

I am not the judge.

In my experience, most Orthodox Christians do not support homosexual behavior or homosexual marriage by and large. Most of them are rather disgusted by it.

It's not....infiltrated in Eastern Christianity like it is in the West.

Most Orthodox countries haven't legalized SSM for a reason.

.....but I am getting off topic.

Your implication was that those who do are not faithful. And does your experience include Greece? That was your claim. By and large.

Reads a lot like "everyone who agrees with me agrees with me, and those who don't have something wrong with them". Not exactly a compelling argument.
