Would I back what? States outlawing going to other states for an abortions? No. I think abortion should be legal roughly like it was under Roe.
But the laws have changed and now you will not back the laws of the land.

But even if some states outlaw it, its still interstate commerce if others dont.
That is my point.

The classic example is wheat grown on a farm for personal consumption was still subject to national quotas. Wickard v. Filburn 317 U.S. 111 (1942).

And how does that concern interstate commerce. National quotas but interstate commerce... I don't see the linkage.

FWIW, I found another case involving arson of a university apartment building.

Man gets four years for setting WSU apartment complex fire

"Kitchen pleaded guilty in January to a single criminal count of maliciously using fire to damage a building used in interstate commerce."

It's part of the name of the crime just because it's a federal case, with the law stemming from the Commerce clause that Congress can pass laws "To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes". No doubt it is justified by the possibility of out of state students paying rent and cases like that quoted by Arcangl86, but it's really beside the point. Unless you want to start a thread on the use or abuse of the Commerce clause.

How many years did people get for trying to burn down the courthouse in Portland with people in it? Was it five years or more? I believe it was like 2 years probation if they were charged at all.

One more time we see the inequality of the Justice System. And a 75 year old? What's his criminal record and his mental state?

And I'm giving you the resources to learn about it if you are truly interested.
I am interested in your opinions.

If I read the decision and still say it share no link with interstate trade... then what... we still have different interpretation issue's.

In one case I can find, there were plea deals so that they didn't plead guilty to attempted arson.

The initial allegation of attempted arson was dropped and replaced with the allegation of willful destruction of government property.

Here's one for a year and a half (time served) for a dud

The device fell to the ground and Ybarra picked it up and threw it twice more, wrote Nathan Miller, an agent with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, in a federal affidavit. It didn’t explode and no one was injured, according to Miller.
The bottle thrown contained no flammable liquid, Kohlmetz said.

Another for time served, probably a similar year and a half or so.

How terrible. As much as I detest Planned Parenthood and abortion, this does nothing but send the wrong message. violence NEVER solves anything.

No body hurt.
I don't see a 74 year old guy getting 20 years in prison.
And the building was to be used for interstate commerce?... I thought is was for a medical procedure.
Did he know, that nobody would be killed? He got what he deserved.

He hasn't gotten anything yet.
Why are you passing judgement before the facts are in?
Kind of telling about your attitude more than anything.
