  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You always start with the individual and their motives. Then you move to the group if the group is condoning, encouraging, planning facilitating , or participating in the action. If the group doesn't do any of that then the group should hold no blame.
Yeah, that's the standard applied to everyone.

It should be. I think volume has a place holder as well. At least as a cautionary place. For example if a large numbet of anti abortionists were killing and trying to blow up things then I think it would be very acceptable for people to start questioning the movement. And if could show that millions of dollars were going into the planning of and supporting the attacks and a large numbet of anti abortionists were thrilled and supportive then I think there is valid reasons for questioning and being very skeptical and cautious of the group.

The standard isn't applied to everyone, we already know why.

A Delaware man is facing federal charges for allegedly causing an explosion during a suspected anti-abortion protest at a Planned Parenthood office.

Samuel James Gulick, 18, allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at the Planned Parenthood facility in Newark last week, causing a brief fire, federal authorities said Monday.

Gulick, who has a history of anti-abortion social media posts, was also captured on surveillance on Jan. 3 video spray-painting the Latin phrase "Deus Vult," or "God wills it,” in red letters on the outside of the facility, prosecutors said.

He was arrested by the FBI without incident the following day on charges of maliciously damaging a building used in interstate commerce, intentionally damaging a facility that provides reproductive health services, and possession of an unregistered destructive device under the National Firearms Act.

If convicted as charged, he could face 5 to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. It's unclear if he has retained an attorney.

I always find that charge funny....unregistered destructive device.

It makes it sound like if he had only remembered to register his molotov cocktail, he'd be fine.

Good thing no one got hurt.

Ooh, I love this game. When someone commits a terrorist attack, do you blame the individual or the group? We all know what usually motivates that classification...

Whether or not they belong to a group?

Well, if he had used his registered handgun, that'd be one less charge...

Good thing no one got hurt.

Ditto.
