  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It was called a "mostly peaceful protest".
So if that was peaceful protest then so was this.
If not then not.
If we could stick a bit closer to the topic, that’d be swell.

I hope the man gets 1000 hours of community service (escorting women as they receive “pregnancy-care” at clinics).

I hope he is never permitted within a mile of those women. A proper prison sentence should take care of that.

Oh, he couldn’t “preach”, but be “supportive”; if he should give in to the temptation to air his personal views with his charges…then he’d get “hard time”.

No one is calling the violence, burning, looting, etc. peaceful. Criminal actions are still criminal.

Yes they did. Check Google for mostly peaceful protest.
Most of the protests were peaceful. Driving into a building with intent to commit arson is not and is a crime. Whatever point you think you are making, you aren’t.

So driving into an unoccupied building and trying to light it up makes you a danger to the public?
What happened to the right to protest?
Yes he should be sentenced for what he did... when did I say otherwise?
Yes, he's a danger. Peaceful protest is fine. But driving into a building and trying to start it on fire, is not fine. And we don't / shouldn't the right to destroy property.

But that is the law in the US. Sorry, but keep your underage nookie at home or 18 USC 2423 will come for you.
What does "underage nookie" mean?

Agreed. And I think everyone involved in violence, burning and looting in the BLM protests should be charged for their crimes.

So wars never solved anything?
And you a veteran?
No. My forum membership is titled "veteran" because I'm been here for a while. Sorry of the confusion. It will change after enough posts/likes.

He's not making a point. He's just (unfortunately fairly successfully) shifting the conversation to abortion and Portland, rather than the arson attack in the OP.

So the Portland fires were peaceful?

And he will be sentenced with that in mind. But are you saying the Portland fires were peaceful protests? How about throwing fireworks at police?

Which is also part of the OP. If he drove into an Amazon warehouse before it opened... we might be talking about the evils of capitalism.
