But I would not jump in with that message. Behind it is the preaching of a judgemental God.
So you don't want to God to judge sin? That is not going to happen. God is just and He will judge every sin, that is who He is, you can't invent Him, you can't change Him, you can't alter Him. You can either believe in Him or not. You can't accommodate Him to your thinking. And that means if you don't understand His perfect righteousness and holiness the problem is in you and not Him.
The reason why we preach God who judges and will judge every sin is to give you a warning. If I only preach to you, God is love, He loves you the way you are and never mention sin or hell, you'll be like great God loves me, I don't need to repent of sin, I'll just continue to sin.
If you a doctor told you, you had a brain tumor and only had 3 months to live unless you had a brain surgery, did he give you a good message or a bad one?
I chose this example on purpose, because that's what happen to me (except the timeframe, but I was short on time nonerheless). Or should I have told the doctor, be queit, why don't you love me, why you give me such news. No, I was greatful the doctor told me that there is a solution.
Christians do the same. We all have a deadly disease called sin that entraps us, but God provided a solution in His Son. Despite us constantly sinning and rejecting Him. Imagine someone does nothing but evil against you your entire life, despite you showing them love. And for all this evil comes the judgement, death. Would you then say 'wait, I know he done evil against me, but take my only child that I love dearly instead, so the evil person can live'. No one does that and yet that is exactly what God did.
Yes, there's a judgement coming, but God's grace today is that He judges no one, otherwise we all would be in hell. He delayed His judgement so people can come to Him, repent and have eternal life. But that day of judgement will come.
