  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Says you - I for one want to know if AB is targeting children, I find it odd you do not.

Could we see a return of the classic child safety PSA over this? "It's 10 p.m. -- do you know what your children are drinking?"

Powerful stuff, that.

How do you know Cruz has no need of the data? AB could work to convince him and now everyone else they are not doing what they are accused of.
Don't you want to know if AB is targeting children ... or ?
Because Ted Cruz isn't a regulator or prosecutor. He's claiming that this is to determine if new laws need to be made, but he's focusing on one small campaign by only one distributor, so that claim is doubtful.

Great Mister Cruz can try for a subpoena if he wants to attempt that, but I’m going to guess that that option isn’t within his purview so he’s stuck with writing strongly worded letters to AB-INBev and issuing press releases.

The plate-spinners on Ed Sullivan were only slightly less entertaining.
Still no reply to the question, just word salad.

Self incrimination? Why what ever could you mean by that?
AB-INBev are protected against unreasonable searches and seizures by the Amendment that comes Two places after the Second Amendment (which is all the further some seem to go with regard to the Bill of Rights); additionally the Fifth Amendment protects them for self-incrimination which they’d waive should they turn over these document without more than a “pretty-please” from the Junior Senator.

Cruz is a lawyer and knows all of this, but also knows the base won’t care if he’s ”going after the woke crowd”.

We do know, because the actual body responsible for determining that has said it wasn't.
So the accused says they are innocent, now that make a lot of sense.

So it is not worth finding out, even if it saves one child!

Should we stop investigating whether there need to be new laws to protect children?

How does investigating whether or not children are being targeted by a corporation for alcohol consumption, equate to attacking the "woke crowd?"

Perhaps if such a strong connection hadn't been formed between trans and children, the perceived threat would be less palpable. These days trans and children seems to go together like bread and butter.

The connection was pushed by bigoted conservatives, not the trans community.

When did he say that? Do you have a link; or did you just make that up?

It’s in your OP. He’s alleging that the sponsorship deal is an avenue for marketing alcohol to children. For his allegations to be valid, there has to be some link between Mulvaney and kids, in order for AB to exploit it.

Did the review board review the demographics that AB studied before they created this ad?

Doubt it!

You should really read your own links:
The review panel completed its inquest and found ‘absolutely nothing’ in Dylan Mulvaney’s Instagram posts ‘that would have special attractiveness below the legal drinking age,’ according to its report.

The panel also reported that the beer company hired an outside firm to review Dylan Mulvaney’s Instagram audience age demographics, which found that over 80% of the influencer’s followers were 21 years or older. The marketing code has a compliance standard of over 73%.

A spokesperson for Anheuser-Busch InBev told The Washington Times that the company takes ‘its role in promoting responsible drinking very seriously, and our marketing is directed to adults of legal drinking age’.”

Is this review board composed of corporations within the industry, who might also benefit from targeting children?
“Maybe they’re all in on it?”
Since this industry is self regulating; isn't that like the fox guarding the hen house?
Why doesn’t Ted contact the ATF since this is probably in their bailiwick?

The demographics that AB collected will demonstrate their intent.

Alcohol advertising is not to target minors, either by using images or age-directed marketing ploys that may intentionally attract younger consumers, such as depicting Santa Claus.
