  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Beings from beyond... Does it have to shake our theology?

Good try - but I am not from Australia...
Good thing, because otherwise Christ's sacrifice wouldn'thave done you any good; you'd have been just Too Far Away.

Well it couldn't be by Jesus dying again, He only died once.
Did He have to die again in New Zealand?
How would the aliens hear about Jesus, at least ancient earthlings could travel to see other tribes etc.
How could the Koreans have learned about Jesus, seeing they're on the other side of the world from Israel?

Has anyone in this lovely community ever come across a UFO? I wouldn't necessarily jump to the conclusion that it's of extraterrestrial origin, but have any of you spotted something unusual in the sky?

I know I've personally seen something unexplainable.

The meme is a joke, but my friends call me a UFO magnet. Now, even though some folks have been trying to persuade me otherwise, I still remain unconvinced that it has anything to do with extraterrestrial life. What I've personally witnessed isn't 'alien life', but crafts that are strange to me, and there are numerous types of crafts that I'm not familiar with. Like almost all of them. However, I must say, the first time and the last were both rather unsettling. But I still don't know if I believe in extraterrestrial life.

Yep. 1963. Certainly supersonic (sonic booms), probably hypersonic (horizon to horizon in seconds), string-of-pearls contrail. Never seen anything like it before or since, Did get boomed by 4 B-58s flying at rooftop level once as well, but they were anything but unidentified.

Yeah, the idea that any UFO has to be either spacemen or demons is pretty annoying. Most likely is they're mundane stuff or some sort, but where's the fun in that?

Offend who it may, of all the possible explanations for UFOs, spacemen or demons are the dumbest.

outer space, globe earth, aliens, evolution, etc...............
Outer space, yeah, it's there. Globe earth, yep, unquestionably. Aliens, if God created any, yeah. Evolution, yeah, part of God's design. Let's not be silly.

Mmmm.... my wife got saved and lived in Australia until she was 17.

There are always exceptions I suppose.
How can that be? Was Christ crucified in Sydney as well as Jerusalem?

Perhaps, just maybe, wild thought i know, but maybe a human being traveled to Australia at some point in the last 2000 years and delivered the message of the gospel to the people living there and Carl's wife heard (i know, having to hear about the Gospel, outrageous right!) the Gospel & believed.

My heart just goes out to all the people that have embarked on the long perilous journeys to reach the mortal intelligent beings living in ignorance on the other planets in our galaxy & bring the Gospel to them so they may hear & believe.
In fact by my calculations most of them would have made it, let me see now, .. carry the one, factor in gravity, known technology, coefficient of friction, apply the formulas for acceleration and potential & kinetic energy and voila..., they would all have burned up falling back to Earth, !!
Oh well, i'm sure some brave soul will manage to take the Gospel to the masses of aliens out there some time over the next 100,000 years!!
geez!

Given that there are saints from every tribe language and tongue - that is a lot of crucifixions.

Maybe you need to reconsider your reasoning ???

He was being facetious, the point being that if Christ had to be crucified in alien planets for them to be saved then He would need to be crucified in Sydney too, the other side of the world.
Conversely, if salvation can come to Sydney without Jesus being crucified there then perhaps salvation can come to the alien planet without Jesus being crucified there, so His 1 crucifixion in Israel is enough for everyone and every alien.

Except of course, people took the message of the gospel to Sydney, no person has managed to take the message of the gospel to another planet, so that evangelizing is going a bit slow & probably will never happen. So too bad for any aliens out there, even though there are none.

Tweren't my reasoning, it was a response to those who contend that our Lordwould have to be crucified pn any other planey where He may placed people for them to be saved. Personally I think that's as silly as saying He 'd have to be crucified in every continent.

Several years ago I was on my back patio with a buddy of mine, we were just having a couple beers and chatting about life. The stars were on full display that night, something that can be rare here in the cloudy Pacific Northwest of the US. So we were star gazing and talking, we both were fixated on a moving light, neither of us assumed anything weird about it--I mean sometimes planes or satellites can be seen, definitely too slow for a shooting star. Then it changed direction sped up and momentarily got brighter and fuzzier, then gone.

We were both silent as we saw it, after moment I said, "Did that just ha-" and he said "Yep". And we decided to just accept it was weird, we cracked a few jokes, but just went about our night. Neither of are the sorts to jump to weird speculation, so we both concluded that it was probably something mundane.

And that's my assumption even now. I don't know what I saw, it was weird, but I also believe that most reasonable explanation is that it was something mundane, perhaps natural phenomenon or man-made, I just don't know what. And that's fine with me.

No little green men, no demons. Just something that I don't, personally, have an explanation for. And I believe it would be irresponsible of me to engage in wide-eyed speculations. I'm not a cave man who needs to assign magic chariots or flying snakes to explain the rising and setting of the sun: there is a rational explanation even if I don't know what it is.

I actually saw something similar with a co-worker at my previous job. I just assumed it was a very slow moving satellite, but I really have no idea.

For me...
It was a pretty late night, and I was making my way home from hanging out with my best friend at the park. As I strolled along, I happened to glance up at the sky, just enjoying the stars. And a massive triangle made up of three lights caught my eye, hanging right up there. At first, I mistook them for some bright stars, but the way they formed a perfect triangle and seemed darker than the surrounding sky was definitely odd.

I couldn't help but keep my eyes fixed on it while I walked, even though those lights were staying put. There was a decent amount of light pollution, so when a cloud drifted behind it, it was crystal clear against the night sky. I can't pinpoint the exact size, but it was far away and huge from where I stood.

I was pretty amazed by it, so I stopped in my tracks and called up my sister. I told her to go outside and look towards the direction of the local grocery store (my navigation skills could use some work), and she was like, "What in the !#$& is that?!" And I was all, "You're seeing this too, right? I'm not going crazy?" We couldn't believe our eyes, and there we were, just laughing and chatting away, totally in awe.

But then a red light popped up right in the middle of that triangle. And we were still going "Ooo" and "Aaah,". Which lasted all of seconds. The red light shot down to the ground, like a perfect streak. Now, nothing happened to my knowledge, no noise, no damage, just a light show, basically. But let me tell you, fear gripped me real quick. I was standing there with my jaw hanging, and the next thing I blurted out was, "Can you come pick me up please?!" My sister on the other end was flipping out, shouting, "I'm on my way!!!"

I spent days trying to find some info about it, scoured the news, surfed the web, but nada. Absolutely nothing. Nowadays, it's become a quirky tale I tell folks. Whether they believe it or not, well, that's not a big deal. I've come to terms with the fact that I don't have all the answers, and honestly, that's okay with me. Don't know what it was, haven't ever seen it again.

I was just hanging out with another friend, parked at the beach, chilling in her car, tunes playing, A/C a pumpin', and ice creams in hand. Just one of those easygoing summer evenings. This time, I didn't spot anything in the sky. But suddenly, everything powered down. The car shut off, our cell phones went kaput, and all the lights as far as you could see blinked out. Even that little light on the buoy out in the water went out. We must have sat there for I don't know how long, just going "What the heck?!" and trying to turn out phones back on.

But then, all the power came back at once. The car lights turned on, the buoy light again, the whole town lit up, and our cell phones decided to cooperate again. Anyway, we got out of there real fast.

My friend heard on the news the next day that the massive power outage was supposedly caused by someone accidentally ramming into a lamp post and knocking it out. So, she floated the idea of us checking out the damage. We drove over to where they said the lamp post got smacked. No trace of damage whatsoever. Apparently, they'd patched it all up like brand new in under 24 hours. Sounds possible, I guess. Probable? Not so much. My sister tossed in the thought that it could've been some kind of EMP thing. And honestly, that's the version I'm going with. Why? How? Heck if I know. But "EMP of some kind" sounds fitting.

So, I thought it would be better to upload this video for anyone who's curious. It happened after I was coming back from a church group. Night time again. I noticed something moving across the sky, and my first thought was like, "Isn't it a bit late for a helicopter?" But I just kept driving, not really paying it much attention. Went around this roundabout and was heading toward the highway. My church is about a 45-minute drive from my home, and I was on my way back to my home area to meet up with my co-workers at a restaurant.

So, I see those lights again, this time on my left. I glance over, and it hits me that it's not a helicopter. It's some kind of aircraft. Not a big deal, it looked weird, but you know, nothing totally out of the ordinary. I pull off the road, take a few turns, and I'm about 10 minutes from the church when I see it once more, cruising above the treetops to my left again. It struck me as really odd now, and I'm thinking, "Why is it still there?" I've put some considerable distance between the last time I saw it, so why is it still going in the same direction as me? It's definitely feeling stranger, and it feels like it's following me at this point. But of course, no one's going to believe me. So another couple of minutes goes by, and it's still there.

So, here comes my brilliant plan! So smart. I decide to pull over at this little ranch-like place and record the thing. Super genius. So smart. As soon as I pull in and step out of my car, the aircraft dips behind some trees near these houses and vanishes from sight. But no way was I giving up. I was on a mission to capture this thing on video. So there I am, standing outside my car with my phone out, waiting for it to show up again. And finally, it reappears, and I hit that record button. Oh, but here's the kicker! I'm not exactly a phone person. I rarely take videos. As soon as I press the record button, the flashlight on my phone decides to join the party. No clue why, but I feel like my phone was saying, "Let me shed some light on this situation." So now I'm unintentionally beaming my phone's flashlight in its direction. I fumble around for a quick second trying to turn it off because I'm clueless. So smart.

Well, this aircraft starts going up and then off to the left. At that point, I'm thinking, "Alright, it's not following me. Just happened to be going the same way." Ohhh, so smart... It doesn't keep going left. It starts turning. Directly toward me. And I'm like, "... Okay, it's heading my way now." SO SMART! And then, it gets closer and closer, lower and lower. Suddenly, I realize, it's massive. And it's coming right at me.

I. Panicked. I stopped the video and jumped right back into my car. My mind's racing like, "Oh no, it knows I'm filming it. It saw the dumb phone light. GO. NOW." I've never started my car and reversed so fast in my life. By the time I pulled far enough back to drive away, it was maybe 50-100 feet away. The lights were blindingly bright; I thought I was going to crash into something because I couldn't see. And then, I just floored it. I'm pretty sure I hit 90 miles per hour on the public roads.

I'm JETTING to the highway. When I get on it, I kept looking in my rearview mirror and around. SO SMART. One of my coworker called me. She's all, "Where are you? And what's your food pick? The kitchen's about to close so we wanted to order you something for when you got here." I was so lost and panicked, food was the last thing on my mind, I just said, "I can't talk right now!" and hung up. I did eventually slow down when I realized I couldn't see it anymore. By the time I pulled into the restaurant, I was too spooked to step out of my car. I just stayed there for a couple of minutes, in a full-on panic, gazing out the window for a good while. Then I finally mustered the courage to dart inside. I figured I'd be safer hanging out in the restaurant with people rather than being alone in my car.

I showed them the video, and one of them tossed out the idea that it could be a drone. A stealthy, giant, Christian following drone. I'm no expert on drone sizes, but this thing was massive. Plus, it didn't just hang out; it came straight toward me and tagged along from the church. Yet, nothing actually went down, that I'm aware of, and I haven't seen it since. I did my online detective work, scoured the web to see if anyone else had a run-in with this thing or if there was any news. But as per usual, nothing. I'm pretty sure I wasn't abducted or anything........................ I'm about 99.9% positive. :tearsofjoy:

But, I've chalked this up to some military people just wanted to see a civilian panic. I have doubts that that's true, because my other sister works for Air Force Intelligence and she said that not only is that highly illegal, but also she knows for a fact that it's not theirs. But also, I know that she's not allowed to tell me things, so it could be just that. Either way, I'm content on believing it was a massive drone or military people getting a little haha in.
