It would seem so as the climate does fluctuate. There was a mini ice age when the Pilgrims crossed the Atlantic.
It is possible that all the pollutants in the atmosphere are affecting the weather but then I remember the Ozone Panic mentioned by another poster.
I also remember the "global cooling."
What I am warning about is the Panic that is disrupting the Technological Envelope that allows us to live in North America.
Fine, shut it down. Shut down the Coal, Gas, Nuclear. Pump all the water out of the reservoirs to flush toilets so the levels are below generator stage.
However, people will starve to death or die of thirst before the oceans rise to any threatening levels.
I have solar powered water pump. It is extremely expensive and unreliable. I had a windmill.
Remember when America was poor and people starved? From the time of the Oklahoma land rush, 189? and the Great Depression, dry farming was practiced. It failed. I have read that the WWII ended the Great Depression but actually, it was the diesel water pumps that revolutionized farming.
America is rich because we have Food. Shut it down, go right ahead as fast as the regulations can be written and then what?
We have to get away from Oil as the world is running out. But it can't be done the way it is being done.
Without technology, a very fragile system, American is uninhabitable.
The Panic is "turn off the refrigerators!" or we will all die! Ok, then how are you going to store food? You will all strarve.That is a simple example.

Climate scientists are entirely cognizant of that fact. It's why they have almost universally concluded the warming is due to anthropogenic CO2 - the lack of any natural factors.

The Little Ice Age was from the late middle ages to the mid 1800s, but yeah, I have identified hundreds of ancestors who crossed during the Great Migration and know full well the privations they endured.

Methane is certainly an issue as it a greenhouse gas, but we're talking climate, not weather and the rapid warming over the last 4 decades has been due to atmospheric CO2 which is mostly anthropogenic. We know this because of it's isotope ratio.

Most of us of a certain age do, but the impending ice age of the 70s is really a myth. There was a lot of pop cultural talk of cooling, but the scientific literature of the time was most concerned with warming.

I have no idea what all this has to do with the science supporting the fact that warming is occurring and human CO2 emissions are the cause. Whatever the solution, or if we choose to do nothing at all, is irrelevant to the fact that it is occurring.

The Ozone layer was something we were having a catastrophic effect on yet reversed course. It's not the best example of what I was talking about but it is a good example of us having a overtly negative impact on the planet.

I can't find any models mentioned in this Wikipedia article that predicted ice free conditions by 2014, so I have no idea what he's talking about.

Here's the thing about his comments though, whatever source he had for the prediction it was wrong, but what he stated about ice loss was correct. There's been a steady decease in Arctic ice since 1979.

On a more serious note, that video isn't terrible because it makes the point that those suggesting a period of cooling have it happening hundreds to thousands of years in the future. Let's not forget that technically the earth still is in the Pleistocene Ice Age. The Holocene is merely an interglacial period, and as long as we still have glaciers and ice sheets, the ice age continues.

And we don’t experience the hottest days because five months ago we had the coldest days on record.
