  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I tried to attract hummingbirds then gave up. I saw my first ever close-up last year. I was shocked. I thought they were smaller. Maybe I'll see another when my bee balm blooms.

I have all my flowers in the house. I'm anxious for our warm-up this weekend (in the 70's).

Hummingbirds come in different sizes of small. ;)

It was cold and rainy all morning, then the sky cleared and we made it to 74. I think summer is on the way. It's supposed to be in the low 90s Friday through Monday. Then back to the 70s by next Friday. But its best to take the weather forecast with a grain of salt most of the time.

I had to order a garden hose. Is this one any good?

Pocket Hose Original Silver Bullet Water Hose - Expandable Garden Hose That Grows with Lead-Free Aluminum Connectors - (50 Feet).

I love 70s - 75. 90s guarantee I'll stay indoors.

Have you ever seen a hummimgbird moth?

Yes! Many times. It's easy to think you've seen a hummingbird sometimes, and it turns out to be those big moths. Their wings move fast too, but not as fast as a hummingbird's wings. And they hover around flowers in the same way.

I've seen them advertised and have wondered the same thing, but I know nothing about them. Amazon's average rating is 4 out of 5.

I love the 70s too. We've been there today but the humidity is horrible. Now we have a tornado watch until 9:00 PM. It's that time of year!

You're a Texan. I don't know what Texans mean by BIG or LITTTLE. LOL! The first time I saw a hummingbird moth in Virginia, I went to the library to find out what it was.

I'm sorry for all the tornadoes down your way! Two of my three brothers live in Miami. One of them lived through hurricane Andrew when it hit Homestead.

I have been searching for a good garden hose that does not kink. I have just thrown away 2 hoses I bought last year. I cannot stand a hose that constantly kinks and I have to fight with it while watering the garden. I trust my search will be successful.

I think garden hoses were invented to test our patience. We barely buy a new one and it starts kinking. There's never a right way to roll them up and if they're left lying in the sun they basically melt inside so water can't get through. We bought a hose reel one year, supposedly all we had to do was attach the hose and wind it up perfectly every time. It still kinked. And you're right, a hose only lasts a year or two. I've wondered about the flat ones I've seen in WM, I think they used to advertise them on TV.

We escaped unscathed and got about a quarter inch of rain. For once no wind when the storm went through.

My delphinium are beginning to bloom. I've been really disappointed with my bearded iris this year. Maybe the warm weather will make more of them bloom.

Already 92 degrees and it's barely past 2:00. Hope this warm spell doesn't last too long. The weather people were saying the midwest is stuck between two systems and that's bringing the heat up through the center of the country. I don't mind it in the summer, but the first week in May is a bit much. :)

Currently 85 degrees, feels like 90 degrees. Severe t-storm in progress, lots and lots of bright lightening, rain coming down. Code Red weather warning until 8:00 PM. Electricity popping off and on.

Did get a lot of work done outside this morning. Mowed and cut limbs with my husband. Things are looking clean and green. ;) Guess the rain will keep the weeds growing...

I have 3 new flashlights (little ones) but no triple A batteries for them. When our power flickers on and off repeatedly, it eventually goes off and stays off for hours. I want to keep one flashlight near the computer. But our power seldom goes off.

Power never did go out fully, just popped off and right back on and flickered several times. Did wake up to some small branches blown down. A neighbor two houses up had a very large branch in their yard.

Flashlights come in handy for many things. Consider getting rechargeable batteries with a charger.

Did everybody get to church today. I think it’s really important to distinguish ourselves as Christians living a holy life before the rapture. They are trying to destroy that too. But some still believe in a pretrib rapture. Maybe you just need a ride. Betty who is over 80 and Jean too have found rides and are there a lot of sundays. Please make the effort if you can. My wife has a live on line church in the comfort of her own home to attend twice a week. I think it is enough. So do that and don’t worry. It’s a little outside my pastors will but I think God would honor it. Maybe we’ll be in church when he shouts for us.

I had a flat one that would have lasted forever, but I can't find it in my garage. And the new pocket hose won't kink.
