Ahhh yes. The unmistakeable warning signs of Brandolini's Law: "I'm not going to provide my evidence"

As a teacher, I expect my students who make an argument to provide evidence for that argument.
As a human person who would try to pursuade someone of something I believe to be true, I would provide all of my available evidence that I have that they can peruse, comment on, and do with it what one will.

And yet, somehow, adults often do the opposite: See no need to provide evidence for their argument. OR, bother to provide all of their own evidence.

It's REALLY hard for me to believe they actually have any meaningful evidence if folks aren't willing to provide it. What's difficult to abide, however, is calling me "lazy and uninformed" because you don't see an obligation in providing meaningful support for your position.

If you don't provide your evidence, it is YOU who is lazy....not me.
As a teacher how many times do you cover the same subject matter? Do you keep answering the same questions over an over again for the benefit of those students who do not want to open a book and read the material and if you were to do that how much of your time would be wasted by those who have no interest in actually learning something. There are people on this forum who will continue to try to waste time by claiming that there there is no evidence even when it has been posted time after time, it is a game people play here. When I went to school I did my own homework I did not ask someone else to do it for me. When I went to a teacher for help I was able to show that I had made an effort to understand the subject and find the answer to my question on my own. Anyone who wants to find out the answer to any questions that they have has a vast supply of information on the internet, but it does require that they make an effort on their own and not expect people to spoon feed them over and over. So if I have a question about something but I am not willing to make the effort to find the answer for myself then I am indeed a lazy person or maybe I just did not care about the question in the first place.

Here's the pattern on this site when it comes to the government

1. someone posts a claim.
2. Sometimes evidence gets posted with that claim.
3. the subject matter gets eviscerated within your source and more context is given that weakens your argument and makes your source to be misrepresenting.
4. This rebuttal against your source doesn't get dealt with And is often time met with complete radio silence as the initial poster stops dealing with it.

I have seen this pattern happen hundreds of times with right wingers. My dirty confession is that I have done it a few times too. Chances are most people have. Where you and I differ is that I don't move to #5...

5. You claim people are lazy because "you've put this information up hundreds of times".

I have no doubt that the people who complain loudest about other people being too lazy are thr ones putting up the worst evidence.

And yes when my students have given me terrible evidence foe their position I have sent them back to find something better.

You keep talking about "my homework versus "your homework". The question comes down to this this; who is making the argument? It is THAT POSTERS homework. Perdido. End of story.

If your sick and tired of it all, post better homework.

Agreed - people who complain about the poster instead of speaking of the topic of the thread are often time (I could be wrong) the weakest.

While that is often true, there are times, such as here now, that someone will make a claim and then refuse to provide any evidence, insisting that to do so would be doing the other person's homework, and then repeat this endlessly - in that case, I think it is fair to complain about the someone's tactics.

Heads up that comments like this speak to reading comprehension as that is not what I had said. To say nothing about strawmaning (as I was complaining about lack of evidence and behaviour that is NOT specific to this poster).

Considering the White House has been stone walling the information right down to changing Congress ability to view reports that were readily available to them before he was sworn in. Couple that with the media, for the most part, having zero interest in reporting.

Proof, at this point would not be readily available.

That is why the need to investigate is there. Which is the point of the OP

to quote:

more than 150 of Hunter Biden and the Biden network’s international business transactions have generated suspicious activity reports by U.S. banks for further review by the Treasury Department to determine if there is illegal activity or a threat to national security. The Treasury Department used to provide these reports to Congress, but the Biden Administration has restricted access to them, raising questions about a possible effort to hide the Biden network’s suspicious business dealings.
joe could end all this by just rescinding his order to withhold the info. It doesn't seem he will even address the issue. Common sense would ask why?

I don't agree that there has been a dearth of reporting.

Proof, at this point would not be readily available.
Okay, no proof, then why would the media keep reporting speculation if there is evidence lacking?

Why is a fair question. But do you really think that rescinding the order would end anything?

Since when does the media need evidence before they report something?

Care to answer the fair question?

I think rescinding the order would jeopardize the president and his family with serious inquiries and that is the main driver why he is blocking the information.

I don’t know the answer.

That is possible but I would need more evidence than an idle supposition to believe that. And even if you were correct that would not be ending anything.

It would certainly end the repeated requests for information.

I doubt that. There would just be endless requests for different information.

Don't the incoming congressman already have multiple investigations culminating in impeachments of the executive branch on their menu?

Are those viable arguments for the presidents changing a long standing policy that allowed oversight?

Non sequitur - I was not arguing for or against presidents changing policy.

I will simply point out that we have experienced years of people posting about Trump and saying that he has broken the law etc and on and on and yet there still is no evidence that has held up, Evidence where was the Evidence for all of those claims?

I see when the subject isn't about Joe's son's laptop, the standard changes to "well, the guy was never convicted so he's totally innocent".

Isn't the activities of Hunter Biden, including matters dealing with the treasury, still under investigation?
Isn't it kind of normal procedure not to dissimulate material regarding those investigations?

Incorrect - after 911 the Government opened channels regarding SAR's and until Biden ruled they could no longer see them - they could see them on request.
