There is no way to date the age of water.
So, the water that provided precipitation (snow) that created the layers of ice could be from freshwater eruptions (fountains of the deep)? I say they did.
Antarctic ice is up tp five miles thick.
It's fresh water, not frozen ocean.
It is not a solid uniform block of ice,
It's highly structured with annual layers.
Yes, as I said, fountains of the deep... or do you know they weren't fresh water? Layers sort of like strata.
A new layer forms from each years' snow, as
has been observed over many years of polar studies..
Oh, back to the slow process. Just like I explained the rock layers this must have been a rapid process as well.
A new layer forms from each years' snow, as
has been observed over many years of polar studies..
Sorry, again it could have been a rapid process just like everywhere else.
The layers can be counted visually quite easily.
They can also be distinguished by their different
electrical conductivity.
Every year the % sulfuric acid in the atmosphere
is different, and it is picked up by tge snow.
( sulfuric acid loves water)
Sulfuric acid makes water conductive.
Lord, ditto again.
Icebergs break off glaciers and float. All ice floats.
But, do glaciers float is the question.
These things are clearly evident and quite easy to
understand.
They are to you and many others... I'm not surprised.

I do not automatically discount scientific knowledge that is based on what is observed and studied.
You don't? Several times I have referred you to Glenn Morton's article The Entire Geologic Column in North Dakota. That article completely refutes your views of Flood Geology. You have simply ignored it.

There are buried sand dunes in the layers you say came from the flood. You have completely ignored this.

There are 3 miles of fossils down there sorted per the geologic column. This sorting appears throughout the world. How do you explain this?

The Mississippi layer in North Dakota is part of a large deposit of limestone from crinoids (a marine animal). If all those crinoids had been living at one time, they would have covered the earth to 3" depth. But there are similar large deposits of crinoid sourced limestone throughout the world. How could all those be alive at the same time and be killed in the same flood? How were the bodies all sorted to the same contiguous layer throughout the world?

We find animal burrows that were filled in with sand throughout the record. How did all that get done in one flood?

I lost a matching sock in a washing machine once and never did find it. Can you explain that?

Every year for hundreds of thousands of years, or in other words -- regular weather.

Sorry, rapid formation of ice layers, just like the rock strata... a catastrophic scene.

Maybe eruptions happened in intervals over the year and came down in freezing conditions.

You're grasping at straws. The upper few thousand layers have trapped gases that have radiocarbon dates that reflect a 1-layer = 1-year pattern.

Maybe so, but it’s inquiry beyond the cookie-cutter scenario anyway. Maybe what you say is true, but I have stated repeatedly that it’s all about time… and we know nothing about it or how God used it.

By. What. Mechanism? (How do "layers" form in rapid freezing?)
Same way 20 neat layer of paint could form
from throwing all the paint at once.

A man is found dead in his house from a gunshot wound. Evidence shows the bullet came from the man's lover's husband's gun. The gun owner's fingerprints are all over the broken door of the victim's house. Can you explain that?

But, do glaciers float is the question.
What? Are we meant to be taking your posts seriously? It's not a question. There is no question. It's not questionable.

Ice floats. Glaciers are made of ice, so they would float. Icebergs are made of ice so they float. The whole of the ice sheet in the arctic is made of ice (the clue is in the name) so it floats as well.

Yes ... please do.

Explain why people talk about the North Pole and a continent at the South Pole, during a time when ice and continents didn't exist.

You can keep going back to ever more basic aspects of science in an attempt to explain something, but you get to a point when it becomes obvious that it's a fool's errand. When you have to try to explain that ice floats and you get push back...It's probably a good time to reassess the effort being put in.

Explain why you trust a book that says there would only be 5000 annual layers on the poles when we can easily count far more than that.

Bonus question: Explain why you trust a book that says a grasshopper has 4 legs, when you can easily count there are more.

Maybe if you read a bit on ice cores. I did mention
an electronic means and visual means of counting
layers, carbon 14 dating and testing against such
as dates of known volcanic events.
They aren't out there making silly guesses.

Many will not even concede something
as obvious as that ice floats out of
( quite realistic) fear that to be wrong/
the awful atheist be right,on the tiniest
point it will be like a pinprick in a balloon.

Their whole construct of reality will
spin seemingly out of control down
a slippery slope of dominos to doom.

How more is "more than that"?

Shouldn't you be able to count several million?

Sloppy exegesis on science's part, in their usual attempt to show the Bible to be in error.

Leviticus 11:21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;
22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

The Bible describes this insect as creeping with four legs and two more legs above their other four to leap.
