Only when he claims to "know better than the generals". Presidents have entire Cabinets and Joint Chiefs to know all the things he doesn't know and advise him.
and a board of directors also has executives, managers, and other subject experts that they can call on so what is the difference?

not at all the point for those I have to explain it to is that you do not need expertise in a specific to manage it or be the CEO, thus we have presidents in charge of a military who have no knowledge about the military.
Of course they can manage.
You could manage a shipyard.
I could manage a basketball team.

Just not, you know, very well.

No one is forced to be vaccinated - people can always choose to not get vaccinated.

Sure. As long as they're willing to surrender their livelihoods and, in the case of some school children, be denied an equal education. Come on, man. Be intellectually honest. There is an unprecedented amount of coercion in play with these vaccines. So while you may be technically correct that no one is "forced", i.e. no one is holding you down and shoving a needle in your arm, there's absolutely no question that people are taking the vaccine against their will due to oppressive and coercive measures.

You appear to think you can make an absurd claim - that anyone who does not think the vaccine is "magical" is a science denier - and then walk that back by simply claiming "hyperbole". You are clearly trying to evade taking responsiblity for a false assertion.

You appear to not understand what the word "hyperbole" means.

Moving the goalposts - no one is denying that there can be serious adverse side effects.
No one? Are you sure?

So would you agree that the risk/benefit profile would indicate that certain populations should not get vaccinated?

Your initial claim - which you appear to be dancing away from now - is that people who acknowledge there are potential side-effects are accused of being science-deniers.

This is, of course, false.

Well, I'm glad to see that you at least acknowledge that adverse events exist in these vaccines. That's progress.

The next logical question then is, if there are adverse events, how do we minimize those and maximize benefit? You know, this was standard evidence-based, regulatory medicine before THE SCIENCE™! reared its ugly head. Now we just vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate, and vaccinate some more and hope for the best, while (reluctantly) acknowledging, yeah, there might be adverse events, but EVERYONE must vaccinate anyway! A little "mild" swollen heart muscle never really hurt anyone anyway, right?

Thats for the sake of civilian control, which we value very highly in our system. For every other purpose, its probably a bad idea.

Just like 'knowing better than the generals', these candidates are not interested in experts. They are one-issue candidates. And their issue is science denial.

"Science-denial" is a pejorative that has been used in an attempt to silence any scientific opposition to the current, government-approved narrative. It's a lazy, intellectually dishonest argument to silence dissenters and stifle scientific discussion and discovery.

I am THE most clever, athletic, rich, and, may I say,
most beautiful, accomished, and thoroughly admirable
woman in all of Hong Kong - and beyond.

Those who do not fully agree, who might even beg
to differ in any way, let alone say dare to say it's absurd
or nonsense, well, they are either communists,
morally weak,o r simply insane, thus lacking in
any capacity to understand hyperbole.

Honestly, the basic problem with all of these positions is that they require ABSOLUTELY NO demonstration of knowledge of what you are leading.
Don't put a scientist in charge of the FDA or EPA. Don't put a doctor, or anyone with deep medical training and medical knowledge in charge of a hospital. But a [whisp of air and breathy voice] "business man", well they know enough about everything because they can run a business. And if there's one thing I know about running a business, it's that, if you've ran one business, you've run them all. Who cares if you don't have the first clue of what C++ means, that doesn't mean you should not be CEO of google!
You....are a BUSINESS MAN, you are held in the highest esteem.
Sounds like the way the Biden administration appoints people to lead various departments, except they value race and sexual orientation over experience.

It seems you have a highly inflated opinion of yourself.

On the other hand, my opinion is that my wife is the most beautiful woman in the world. That's not hyperbolic. It's AN OPINION.

thus lacking in any capacity to
understand hyperbole.

Indeed.

Science denial is what happens when folks with a poor understanding of science read something on the internet from someone in a less than ideal position to be a purveyor of scientific advice. And then defend it to death and don't address counter arguments to their claim.

Perhaps that's what it used to mean, and I would agree that's what it SHOULD mean. But that's not what people mean when they say it today.

I get that many people think there is a consensus among scientists and doctors regarding COVID. The government, big tech and the mainstream media has been working overtime to make you believe that's true. But if you look around, there are all kinds of highly qualified doctors and scientists that recognize the complete and utter nonsense that is being pushed in the name of "science".

Admiral Levine was Physician General of PA for two years and then Secretary of Health for the state for 4. That's 6 years of high level executive experience in public health, in the 5th largest state in the country. Seems like a good choice to run the public health service. Assistant Deputy Secretary Brinton, who I actually think is a civil service position and not a political appointee, is a nuclear engineer with research experience in spent fuel disposal and 11 years of experience in nuclear policy. Again, seems well qualified to me.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but gay and transgendered people can be nuclear physicists, doctors, military strategists. Actually, they can have pretty much any job.
Them being transgender doesn't mean they become stupid and useless.

And so, given that my original post was that LEADERS (not deputy assistants or whatever) should have a clue about the intricacies of the department they are leading, did you have something meaningful you wanted to rebut with or just show the world your disdain for transgendered people?

I've lived in PA my whole life. I have a different opinion.

Of course, I believe most public health experts have completely destroyed any credibility they had as they continually pushed largely untested, unproven and ultimately ineffective mitigation measures that not only failed to slow the spread of COVID but had dire repercussions on public health as a whole.

I have no disdain. If they are the most qualified people they should get the job. But these people are being celebrated for their gender identity, not their expertise at doing their jobs. For instance we have the first black, gay, immigrant WH spokesperson who rarely seems to know what she is talking about. I didn't agree with Psaki but at least she was good at her job. There is no problem with LGBTQ people being in leadership but they should be chosen based on their ability and experience, not just for diversity.
