CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

To be fair, with the heat budget involved in such a flood they would have boiled. Either way, marine creatures would not have survived.

The school system had defended the curriculum by claiming the lessons taught history and literature. However, much of the program was fundamentalist Christian instruction. For example, a lesson on Adam and Eve featured the pair with a dinosaur in the background. It asked students: “So picture Adam being able to crawl up on the back of a dinosaur! He and Eve could have their own personal water slide! Wouldn’t that be so wild!”

That 'teaching' script [the "It asked students" link] is wild. If we set aside the dinosaur slides and the other things they are trying to 'teach', it's also interesting to see what they won't talk about:
NOTE TO TEACHERS: If a student questions how long the [Genesis] days were, say: “Normally when we use the word day we usually mean 24 hours, but often the word day is also used to mean a period of time, such as, ‘Back in the day of my great grandparents...’ Since there are different ideas about what this word ‘day’ means in the Bible, this is one of the things we cannot discuss in Bible class.”
Haha, there are no different ideas about whether Adam and Eve hung out with dinosaurs, but here there are differences of opinion and we can't talk about it.

Fascinating. I never theologically understood why dinosaurs existed. I thought it was out of God's abundant creativity. Great response!

I believe they are the dragons, satyrs, behemoths, and leviathans mentioned in the Scriptures.
Some type of serpent-beast talked to Eve in the Garden -- probably a dragon.
That... that is a weird animal.
Though it did remind of something I saw about Biblical scholars discussing Satan and the serpent in Eden and one of them ending up yelling "Satan did not hop around like a pogo stick!"
