It seems there is plenty of hypocrisy on both sides here. I remember many here criticizing Sarah Palin for writing notes on her hand for a speech she gave. There there was the whole Obama can't speak without a teleprompter "scandal" brought up by the other side. Then you have Trump, who frequently hasn't used a teleprompter or notes, but can sometimes be incoherent (tries combining too many thoughts into a couple of sentences) or keeps getting sidetracked by random thoughts.

Let's face it, every President has speechwriters (even Trump) and use a teleprompter to give important speeches. If they are going to speak without a teleprompter, or hold a press conference, most Presidents will have notes to help ensure they hit the key points they want to address. Biden having notes is no different than most Presidents, and it is hypocritical that some here who either defended or criticized Palin are now taking the other side.

No, as the heading itself says, we are talking about "talking points." Ever President has an idea that certain questions will be asked and will often have notes, similar to that, to ensure they hit the various points they want to address. As Trump (and Obama and Biden) have shown, it is easy to get sidetracked, to get off message, and miss stating various points you wished to make.

I laughed at Palin but not for having notes, I laughed because she wrote the notes on her hand like a kid writing notes for a test on their hand so the teacher wouldn't see it. Why didn't she just write notes on paper as other politicians do? My impression was that she is just immature.

Who cares? I use notes when I want to remember things under normal, non-stressful times, so I don't see the problem.
