There is no difference between the atheistic kind and the vanilla kind.
And how would you distinguish between guided evolution and no-God-exists natural evolution?

Oh, well.

This point is getting old.

If you don't like the term "atheistic evolution," don't use it.

Just don't expect everyone you talk to to not like it though.

And how would you distinguish between guided evolution and no-God-exists natural evolution?

Aristotle's theory of gravity doesn't refer to gods.
Newton's theory of gravity doesn't refer to gods.
Einstein's theory of gravity doesn't refer to gods.

None of these are no-God-exists theories of gravity.

Similarly, evolution (the scientific theory from Darwin to today) doesn't refer to gods. This does not make it "no-God-exists natural evolution".

So there is the modern scientific theory of evolution (with no mentions of gods at all), and theistic evolution, which is the same, except that the gods watch it all from on high, and maybe intervene if they find it necessary.

Oh, well.

Some might consider the term a prolix, and some might not.

Its not about whether or not I like something.
I like the idea of gods tampering with evolution, to achieve the goal of humanity.
Bit I accept the fact that it is most likely wrong.
That you think my ego is so vast as to make reality a matter of whether or not I like something, speaks volumes about your perception of me. Negative volumes.
Where do you get the idea that I am so egotistical as to define reality by what I like?
Oh... wait. Several Jack Chick comics do portray us as exactly that sort of raving egomaniac. As do a few apologetic movies made by Kevin Sorbo.
So thats where you get it from?

Here we go again.

Maybe not in a science classroom, okay?

But in English class, where they teach that adjectives modify nouns, there is.

Fair enough?
As long as you understand that biological evolution is not taught in English classes.

Evolution does not teach no God-exists. All sciences including evolution are silent on everything supernatural for the simple reason that supernatural hypotheses are not testable.

IF ... you don't like the term "atheistic evolution," don't use it.

IF ... you do like the term "atheistic evolution," feel free to use it.

Better yet, just feel free to use whatever term you want to use, when you want to use it.

And I'll do the same.

Are you sure you mean 'prolix'?
Yes.

Prolix: marked by or using an excess of words.

As in preferring to say "atheistic evolution," instead of just "evolution."

I could say "evolution."

I could say "atheistic evolution."

I could say "atheistic natural evolution."

I could say "atheistic natural progressive evolution."

I could say "atheistic natural progressive biological evolution."

God bless freedom of speech.

Now science in the classroom ... well ... they evidently teach that saying too much is anathema.

You know?

Violating the Keep It Simple Stupid principle?

But if that's the case, I'd rather be considered "stupid" than "simple."

I think that Theistic Evolution as formulated by Francis Collins who is a Christian assumes it is the Christian God that guides evolution is some way.

The Theory of Evolution, w/o adjectives, neither assumes nor denies the supernatural.

Second time: What adjective would you use to distinguish "no God" from "God"?

Be it evolution, letter-writing, macrame, tool-and-die working, welding, whatever?

See, there's at least two words you might use. And they are not synonyms. It's tautological to talk about 'secular science', but this is the accurate choice.

Whatever that meant.

Second time: secular

(not that an adjective seems necessary in any of these cases)
