CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, i dont think " utterly mysterious"
or ftm, that "life force" applies, unless moss and
bacteria are self aware, which they do
better than we, while to all appearance totally
unaware.

Does consciousness implies self aware?
I don't think it necessarily does.
But also there is the idea that consciousness is intrinsic within that "life force".
I'm even agreeing with the likes of Teilhard de Chardin who said
that what's evolving in the cosmos is "consciousness".
For example takes Humans where consciousness has actually
evolved into self awareness.
And that, to me anyway, seems like some very mysterious stuff going
within that life force.

We are conscious, but I hold that
moss and bacteria are not.

Of the four forces in the universe, I think they have now combined the electromagnetic force with the weak nuclear force into what they call the electroweak force.

At higher energies of interactions, none of which are good for your existence. At the energies of human bodies (and the other animals, etc.) the weak force has no impact. The strong nuclear force just keeps our atomic nuclei bound and gravity just keeps everything stuck to the Earth.
Functionally, life is just applied electromagnetism.

Well, it does mediate radioactive decay, so it's relevant to those who've had X-rays or suffered radiation poisoning - and radioactive dating and isotope tracking is useful...
