  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Where is Kamala Harris?

Well in that case Trump should have read how the system works in USA before chanting “ I will build big beautiful wall and Mexico will pay for it”.

Oh I see....the problem was that he didn't anticipate the left doing whatever they could to stop us from having effective border security.

I guess you're right...we should always anticipate the left ruining border policy. They ruined it as soon as they got in office after all.

You are right , Trump’s lack of knowledge how Washington works is the problem and not democrat. Instated of going rally to rally and making empty promise about building wall , he should have studied how Washington works. “negotiator in chief” got batten badly!

Sure sure sure...Biden's 3.5 trillion dollar boondoggle won't pass because Biden doesn't understand it's more important to appeal to Manchin than the "squad". The border crisis won't get fixed because Biden doesn't realize that Harris is only there to appeal to certain voter demographics. Biden's total failure in Afghanistan is due to his total lack of a viable plan.

This is fun.

where is Kamala? busy working

Harris releases migration strategy amid border crisis

Kamala Harris meets with Mexico's AMLO, says US and Mexico 'embarking on a new era'

"As part of the ongoing and never ending dialogue with Mexico, The Vice President hosted a delegation from Mexico in a high level meeting at the U.S.-Mexico High Level Economic Dialogue (HLED). Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Commerce Gina"

see below

Ummmm....the first link isn't work. That's a wish list. Unless she has a magic lamp that a genie is going to pop out of, none of those things will happen.

As for Mexico, illegal immigration pumps billions of dollars into their economy. They won't give that up. Every administration claims to have help from Mexico but the only administration to actually get it was Trump's because he threatened to shut down commercial ports.

Kamala Harris will be on ABC's "The View" on Friday

some of your questions will be answered

I doubt it...

The left wing rhetoric around "solutions" to this "issue" sound like this...

"We need to fix the root causes of illegal immigration in these countries so that people don't have a need to flee them in the first place
."

Let's just start by saying that's a lie. It's an emotionally satisfying lie that lets voters think they are morally good because a vote for a Democrat is a vote to help people in need.

There is no fixing these nations. The economic reasons they are leaving aren't fixable. We cannot hope to create an entire educational infrastructure and diverse economy without direct control of the hundreds of billions of dollars such a project would require (and we don't have direct control, such funds go through their corrupt governments)...nor do we actually have the capacity to do such a project.

Look at Afghanistan. We had direct control over everything for 20 years...all we created was an economy that depends entirely upon our foreign aid.

So whenever a Democratic politician says some version of what I stated above....they are lying. They are selling voters on a fictional solution which doesn't exist.

The only real options are those which Democrats don't like. We can either create an infrastructure that makes it extremely difficult for anyone to enter the US in the first place...or we dramatically change the laws to speed up the removal process of those who enter (for example, someone enters the US, they are detained for mere days until they are granted or denied asylum, then they are removed without entering the interior of the nation).

If done effectively, those sent back to their homeland will discourage others from making the same attempt as it is fruitless.

We can’t send 11 million people back. This is just not practical.

We don't have to. Make sure that they can't get access to work, school or public assistance, and most of them will leave on their own volition, seeing the United States as a place without a future for them.

The question should be. How do we make their lives better.

Why is the job the United States to make their lives better? Where does this premise that we owe them anything come from?

They're always generous and moral with your money.

I think as long as the left frames it as a moral issue....it should be funded as a moral issue.

If you vote Republican, your tax dollars go towards infrastructure and enforcement when Republicans get elected...Democrats get to keep their taxes (in regards to immigration spending anyway)

When Democrats get elected, Republicans keep their tax money and Democrats can fund all the free healthcare, social services, and schooling they want to.

Wanna bet?

I doubt if the dear ladies of the view will ask her any probing questions, nor will they speak truth to power about the fiasco at the Southern border.

What doesn’t the left frame as a moral issue?

As a Christian I don’t know how I can practice “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” and propose a policy which destroy 11 millions people’s lives. It’s completely contradict with my faith.

Does it not destroy or diminish the lives of the people already in need in the USA? Are they, who are citizens and have paid taxes, going to have their employment prospects and even necessary government assistance reduced so that people who have no stake in the USA, have paid nothing into our welfare, etc. systems, but who need food, clothing, housing, and so on and can get it from our government?

And how "Christian" is it when those in government who constantly claim to be the ones helping our poor and disadvantaged, instead make them poorer and more disadvantaged...and all because the newcomers are expected to vote for the political party of the officeholders who are doing this?

Kamala Harris seems to be keeping away from anything that government is supposed to do, even when the event is mainly ceremonial. Whether this is because she bungled her earlier, limited, attempts; or because she does not want to be too closely associated in the public mind with the current occupant of the White House, it's hard to say.

I never watch. First, I don’t have cable, second there is nothing redeeming about the show from the videos of it I have seen.
