Thanks for the background. I've only worked into factories as a summer job while I was in college. One of them was a book distribution center and the other made some kind of rubber parts for vehicles I think. The first one I was fortunate and I got four different positions -book filler, shipping Department on a writer and a picker, and then in an air conditioned office doing some kind of filing. I also went off to the National guard for 2 weeks, and had some issues with them that I had to file with the VA in the unemployment office. The last one as a clicker I was standing in a hot and dirty environment for 12 hours a day. I also was lifting weights in the morning before I went into my shift. I don't know how I did it. It was intense. But both of those situations I made some friendships and was able to also be a Christian witness. Hang in there my friend. You never know what opportunities lie ahead in those long hard days. I have found that with snow plowing also that there are opportunities that opened up in those long days and hard hours. There's sometimes a bond that is developed when you go through arduous and difficult situations together.

Sounds like you do a lot in life, Sampa. O_O

I have them blessed with quite a few experiences I never would have imagined. But it's definitely not of my own ability but of the Lord.
What is the emoticon? I'm not familiar with it.

I noticed you liked the dark academia booklist. Are you into classics, the aesthetic, or both?
Unfortunately I don't read novels as much as I'd like to, so for now just the movie versions, although the book options would be on my reading list if I read novels more. I read all day for work, & like reading articles online, so I'm usually just read-out the balance. I imagine if Internet wasn't so prevalent, I'd read all those. Or have read them all. I had wanted to read classics, many on that list. It is the aeshetic, & b/c a lot of modern works draw from the classics so I wanted to read/watch the 'authentic' or 'original' works. But when I do actually read paper books, I find myself gravitating towards non-fiction. I used to love fiction but started learning truth is often stranger than fiction.

Nice. That is the one I took too. Feeling any symptoms from your second shot? My second shot was not too bad. Although it made me really tired for about 24 hours. Also I had really blurry vision in my right eye for about 20 mins.

Perhaps audiobooks are a happy medium. They’d allow you to enjoy the story without feeling worn. It could be a nice treat for downtime. :)

I read a lot of non-fiction. But my volume increased dramatically several years ago. I finish 100 or more titles per year. Adding classics to the list made a difference. It improved my speed, writing, comprehension, etc. They’re meatier.

My reading slump is largely due to imbalance. Too many Christian titles and not enough fun to balance what I digested. I needed something happier, lighter, enthralling.

I started The Secret History yesterday and I’m at the half-point. The book is really good. You need things like that. It reboots the engine. If everything is serious or heavy you get weighed down.

I haven’t read a classic all year. That’s why I’ve only covered 17. Lesson learned.

Yesterday in town I saw a man w/ half a face. I don't know if it was due to burns, but I think he was born that way. He had a smile on the 'good' side of his face. Count your blessings. If he can be happy, anyone can. Maybe he has Christ in him?

I got my second COVID vaccine yesterday. My arm didn't hurt nearly as much this time around.

Congrats man! Mine didn't hurt to much, I felt slightly feverish and sleepy for a day, but after 48 hours I was back to normal!

Just found out today doing a long chat, messaging with the guy from The Reunion that was interested in me.. that he has cancer and is going through treatment. It explains how he has aged so fast. I'm still curious to find out his story about the wife that he had and his family picture. I had just sent him a message today because he had said his house is near the church I go to. I told him I would be praying for him. We had started off talking about today's sermon and scripture and chatted back and forth about health and such.

I went to the zoo w/ my cousin last weekend. I'm happy to report none of the animals were pacing. This zoo used to have a real pacing problem for their large carnivores, but they renovated the exhibits, providing them more space, hiding places, & doing a better job of distancing the animals from the guests. I was happy.
