I reckon the "Day of the Lord" (yome) which is near, will be eternal, but according to your way of thinking it will be 24 hours. Good luck with that and likewise with your view that the heaven, the earth, and all in it were created in 144 earth hours even when there was no sun.
.
The Day of the Lord is a period or age of time based on figuring that out by looking at the whole counsel of God's Word. The day of the Lord is defined by looking at the same signs that appear at the breaking of the sixth seal, and it is also defined by the End of this earth mentioned by Peter. But nowhere is the Day of the Lord attached with the words evening and morning (Which defines a 24 hour day).
If the six days of creation were not marked by an evening and morning, then I could maybe see you allegorizing them. But an evening and morning defining each day tells us that this is a 24 hour day. If this was not the case, then you would not be able to be on time to work, or at a doctor's appointment. You don't say to you to your doctor that you thought he was speaking metaphorically about the days and that is why you missed your appointment. Something is literal unless there is an indication in the text that suggests otherwise.
