  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why do you think men arent homophobic towards gay women

I thought I already explained this? Some men are, but not to the same extent. Psychologically a woman taking on a man's role isn't going to have the same anger as a man taking on a woman's role. Although there is still blowback with the former, it's just a wall that's more easily defeated.

Do you think people say that transgenderism is a sin and that androgynous behavior draws undue attention to gender because they draw undue attention to whats off limits?

Transphobia probably has a lot in common with homophobia. Whether or not it's a sin isn't up to me. If it's a sin it's a sin. I'm not a theist and I don't believe in sin.

I think it has more biological roots than some would like to think. Although in the end it might just be an abstract no matter the reality of averaged differences.

I think some women can be very masculine inside and out, and I don't have a problem with that. People should be themselves, anything else probably develops a dysphoria type feeling.

This discussion reminded me of something else. Do you think Harry Potter being spooky has something to do with angels in heaven who saw God in all his glory and who fell because of pride have connections to those angels having pride and wanting to be worshipped instead of be worship leaders.

How so? When I was four Voldemort terrified me.

I grew up in a Christian household that viewed witchcraft as evil. Those books and films were banned in my house. Plus most of my friends thought Harry Potter was lame.. so I didn't really have an opportunity to watch it elsewhere.

Well I don't believe in witchcraft now. Nor was I ever really worried about it when I was a Christian.

I wanna get off the computer too. There are a few other things that I wanted to say.

Do you think sperm and eggs themselves have something to do with what makes male male and female female? Even infertile people have a design related to sperm and eggs.

This is almost a silly question but what you said reminded me of it. do you think the f word is offensive because it refers to off limits stuff in and of itself (which isnt nice for people to talk about regardless of the other details).

male and female is similar to its not the sin or amount its that we are sinners. Its a vague abstract concept in that sense.

Do you think the f word is such an offensive curse word because of its connection to sexuality itself? Or it refers to passionate romantic sexual behavior

Do you think Salem is why people are afraid of Harry Potter

No, I think it goes back to the old testament. At least as far as our Western culture goes.

That's a can of worms I don't feel like opening.

There's a thread on profanity for that question.

Why do you think toxic feminity doesnt exist as much.

I don't think that's true. What's true is that elements of masculinity have been identified as "toxic" while toxic elements of femininity have merely been doffed off as "being female."
