I wouldn't agree with that. There are gender differences more clear at the extremes and more nuanced toward the center, but I wouldn't say they range from "childlike" to "parentlike."
One old distinction I've noted is: "Men defend the perimeter, women defend the hearth. And both can be incredibly violent in defense of their relative areas."
Remember the mother in California who killed a mountain lion with a kitchen knife...in her kitchen?
People associate gay women with bad experiences more than gay men with bad experiences. I think thats related to women and estrogen.
