I was just wondering because I saw this video and evolution doesn't necessarily revolve around the fact that monkeys turned into humans. So I really want to hear your insight on this. (Although I agree with the fact that religion should never be forced on anybody.)

Most Christians do accept the basis of evolution, some do not.

Mostly this.

But for the Christians that don't accept evolution, my experience is that they see the Bible as fact and without error. Evolution goes against the Genisis books in particular.

At least that is what I have been told by Christians that don't accept evolution.

It's kind of hard not to accept evolution though because that's just naturally how the world works. All that Genesis goes against is direct evolution from monkeys. I'm pretty sure that Adam and Eve looked a lot different than we do today though.

... Btw, agnostics,... Feel free to answer as well.
A bit wishy-washy, he is .. (IMO).

His dissertation appeals to abandoning beliefs in philosophical (religious) worldviews .. but he starts out by encouraging believing in yet another.
He then compares the need for future scientific thinkers and taxpayers who would presumably support scientific research, against believing in a worldview which is inconsistent with those observations .. Which ends up as a valid argument .. but he needs to encourage suspension of beliefs altogether .. because science doesn't use them.

I much prefer the Christopher Hitchens 'hitchslap' style, myself.

There is no problem between the two, but this is not clear until you seek to understand why there is no problem. Until then, one is stuck by the assumptions of each. Evolution assumes that there is no "Grand Designer" and Christianity assumes that Evolution requires that there is no Designer. Which is not the case.

See my post directly below yours.

Doesn't really fit what the science says, but if you want to accept a water down version of evolution be my guest.

How do you think Adam and Eve looked?

That's a very odd question, because I do think Christians can accept evolution. And I'm not alone in that.

Why do I think that?

Well, when I was a Christian I accepted evolution in it's full scientific form. No caveats, no exceptions. Stopping believing in God didn't change my position on evolution one bit.

Well,.. probably more like cavemen.

Well I figured if Bill Nye felt that way that he must not be alone in his views.

Interesting, usually I hear people going the other way. That Adam and Eve looked perfect yet once sin started they began deteriorating in image. Unless whatever a caveman looks is superior? I'd certainly get a kick out of seeing an artistic representation of Adam and Eve that way, lol.

Caves are rare, so man never really lived in caves with the occasional exceptions.
It's not a place where any species hangs out.

Well yours at least makes an attempt to explain more archaic human fossils.

Curious are you able to pin point a time stamp of what Adam and Eve may have looked like with this video? Need to work out a mug shot for these two individuals.

What isn't?
18 to 30 percent of people believe man has always existed in it's present form.

So I'm ruling out people who believe that a human baby popped out of a salamander. I'd say that theory of evolution need not be counted.
