I didn't post that comment. Why do you require me to substantiate it?
I'm guessing you already asked FL. He either answered or didn't.
Why do you persist? You were probably misquoting him anyway.
I'm pretty sure FL said nothing about a FIRE ANT. - lol

That was a mistyped phrase and I assumed you would know that.
My apologies to you and fine linnen.

Obviousely it should have been.......FIRE AND THE LAKE OF FIRE.

Sad that you don't even appreciate somebody taking the time to react to each and every verse you posted.

If your understanding is so much better, you should be prepared to share your insights. It's what shepherds do, which them that went through the door are. John 10:2

You didn't refute Proverbs 19:23 either with your large post, which you were trying to do.

Why do you think such Scriptures need to be reacted to when they obviousely are taken out of context.

That just means that YOU have not done enough Bible study to know that.

Allow me to help you my brother.

Luke 16:20-26...........
"At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.' 25"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'

Then in verse 28.........
"for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'

He REMEMBERED that he had five brothers.
Ok. Where is it said that memory is the worst thing for them?

Yes, the Word of God. I understand it to be eternally true. You haven't disputed that. So I believe the fear of the Lord leads to life, also after death.

There are verses that say things like Jesus gives life (un)to the world, that He came that the world might be saved, that God will reconcile all things to himself, etc.

I like the use of determine here, because you seem determined to explain them in light of doom.

Not sure what this means. Are you suggesting that the day is now, and after death is night?

Doesn't really say that. It is about Jesus' works. Not sure how this relates to anything we must do to be saved.

Seems obvious, dead people can't do anything. Ok.

Interesting. How about them that can't lose their reward? Matthew 10:42

This is the best verse as far as making your point.

I wonder though, here it says they shall not rise, but what about the resurrection of the wicked?
I'm not sure how to interpret them both at the same time correctly.

Not sure if this is just supposed to make us fear death or something.

This is ambiguous in my opinion. David seems to be wondering this.

Carpe diem?

Not for the evil man, but for the repentant former evil man there is.

I also wonder how literal I should take this. It's not like all criminals die instantly after becoming truly evil.

Interesting isn't it, the mention of having no hope, but it being in the past. This is cause for optimism in my opinion. Those without hope can gain it.

Oh we don't have to sorrow about the dead. Perhaps we have reason to be optimistic.

Seems obvious. The first part could be about the spiritual dead, because they also do not praise the Lord.

You posted that one twice.

You said..........
"You haven't disputed that. So I believe the fear of the Lord leads to life, also after death."

HEY......among YOU and Finelinnen and Steve,,,,,one of you guys actually got something right.

Matthew 25:46 actually supports YOUR comment.
"And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal."

After all this posting and debateing someone got it right!!!

There is indeed LIFE AFTER DEATH and the only question is WHERE.

The saved go to heaven to be with God and the LOST go to Hell to be with SAtan.

What then is the way to heaven??? CHOOSING JESUS CHRIST.

We all MUST choose Christ to go to heaven WHILE WE ARE ALIVE TO DO SO.

Now, if you know something that the rest of us do not know, NOW would be the time to post the Scriptures that say as you just implied......
"THE LOST DEAD IN THE LAKE OF FIRE WILL THEN ACCEPT JESUS AND BE SAVED THEN REMOVED FROM THE TORMENTS OF THE LAKE OF FIRE"

Now.......instead of all the talk and typing and opinions, PLEASE do what Steve and mr Linnen have not done and POST THOSE BIBLE SCRIPTURES THAT SAY WHAT YOU BELIEVE.

You said....."OK". So I take that to me that you know KNOW what the Bible actually says about this. Wonderful.

But then say.........
"Where is it said that memory is the worst thing for them?"

You have to be kidding me.....right????

When a person is in torments and is able to remember that he had the opportunity to accept Christ and did not, he will have eternity to remember THAT HE DID NOT HAVE TO BE IN HELL.

I ALWAYS include the reference. Do you have any more excuses?

Not yet have you done so!!!!

You have not posted one single Scripture that says what the Universal belief is which is ....
EVERYONE IN THE LAKE OF FIRE WILL ACCEPT CHRIST AND BE SAVED AND THEN REMOVED FROM THE LAKE OF FIRE".

This is easy brother......just post ONE SCRIPURE that says that and we all go home.

This is actually becoming embarrassing for you. NOT ONE SINGLE SCRIPTURE YOU POSTED SUPPORTS WHAT YOU BELIEVE!!!!
Embarrassing for me? You can't be serious.
All of these scriptures support what I believe. When everyone is saved, no one will be left in the LOF. It's not rocket science. Just more intellectual dishonesty from you.

Saint Steven said:
Here are the same ten I gave you earlier. All with references.

1 John 2:2
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Romans 11:32
For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

Titus 2:11
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,

Romans 5:15-16
But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification.

Romans 5:18-19
Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people,
so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.
19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Colossians 1:19-20
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

1 Timothy 2:1-6
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.

1 Timothy 4:10
That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.

1 John 4:14
And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

1 Corinthians 15:22
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

Your verses were taken out of context as well. Does that make them false?
In fact every verse on its own is taken out of context. Time to stop using that lame excuse.

It's called FAITH, Major. What fun would it be if it was all spelled out in minutiae? That's what the Muslims do, a little rule for every facet of living.

And God doesn't ask for much, He shows us how good and perfect He is. He gives His only begotten son to show mankind that He will go to any and all lengths to save us. Jesus is greater than Adam. He is Salvation, He does provide.

It's not as though it takes any massive leap of faith and logic to go from all the great universalistic covenants and the mission, miracles and teachings of Christ and the apostles to the conclusion that God will save and restore all creation. It's right there before you, the great sea of knowledge of God.

So please, dare to hope, have a little faith brother.

Here's the first one below.

Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for our sins. (with me so far?)
This is not something we did, this is something he did on our behalf.
But wait, he didn't only do it on our behalf, he did it on behalf of the whole world.
Do you believe that the atonement is only payment in part?

1 John 2:2
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Let's try another one @Major1 (#2 0f 10)

This is a comparative. We have an "everyone" and an "all".
The "everyone" God has bound everyone over to disobedience.
Which seems bad, but there is a reason for it. "so that..."
"... he may have mercy on them all."

Who is included in "everyone"? Who is included in "all"?
Is anyone withheld from God's mercy? (nope) Is it not for everyone?

Romans 11:32
For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

To whom did the grace of God has appear? (all people)
To whom did it bring salvation? (all people)

Titus 2:11
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,
True God has made provision for all men to have salvation. None of those scriptures you have provided however say all men choose to receive God's salvation. According to the scriptures salvation is conditional on believing and following God's Word and those who choose not to believe and follow God's Word choose death over life and receive the second death in the lake of fire after the second coming.

This one will take a bit more work. But you are all warmed up after the first three @Major1

Here we have an equal comparison of the phrase "the many".
Not just "many", but THE many. Here are the two equals:
1) The many died by the trespass of the one man. (Adam)
2) God’s grace (through Christ) overflowed to the same "the many".

Romans 5:15-16
But the gift is not like the trespass. As posted earlier Jesus making provision for all men and the sins of the world does not mean all the world will be saved according to the scriptures or does it mean all the world will choose salvation. Which one of the scriptures have you provided says that the unrepentant wicked receive eternal life after the second coming? - Not one.

Hope this helps.

Embarrassing for me? You can't be serious.
All of these scriptures support what I believe. When everyone is saved, no one will be left in the LOF. It's not rocket science. Just more intellectual dishonesty from you.

This is a continuation from the previous passage and brings us halfway through @Major1

In this comparative equal presentation we see "the many" again in verse 19 and "all" in verse 18.

1) Verse 18: One trespass resulted in condemnation for all people. All = ALL, right?
So also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. All = ALL, right?

2) Verse 19: Through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners. "the many" = all. All became sinners through Adam, right?
So also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. Again "the many" = all.

Romans 5:18-19
Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people,
so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.
19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

Good work, you have made it half way @Major1
Hang in there, I know you can make it. Number 6 of 10.

Here we have "all things" defined as things on earth or things in heaven.
So, everything in the physical and spiritual realms. Anything missing? Are there more realms than the physical and spiritual realms?

Therefore, God's fullness dwells in Christ to reconcile ALL THINGS in both the physical and spiritual realms. Anything missing from this reconciliation of ALL things?

Colossians 1:19-20
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
