Christians have a hard enough time discerning between the ways of the Kingdom and the contrary ways of man, thinking they can have it both ways, let alone discerning what may be the mark.

Perhaps this is where the oil comes in.

*Like Samuel, we must anoint the True Messiah.

So, we must first hear He Who Speaks.

*"From the Hebrew name שְׁמוּאֵל (Shemu'el), which could mean either "name of God" or "God has heard". As told in the Books of Samuel in the Old Testament, Samuel was the last of the ruling judges. He led the Israelites during a period of domination by the Philistines, who were ultimately defeated in battle at Mizpah. Later he anointed Saul to be the first king of Israel, and even later anointed his successor David"
Meaning, origin and history of the name Samuel

This sounds like a good way to prepare for the end.

So, do you believe that great social change in the justice system is paving the way for the mark?
If you know anything about the Law of the lands, justice is blindfolded. The system is not about justice but the letter of the law.
As for paving, what happens when power is taken away from police and left to an army ill prepared to deal with citizens unless they use their weaponry. What happens when all these individual self interest groups that rallied under the justice flag have removed order and cannot come to an agreement among themselves what the new system should be, divided by ideologies and race around the world. Why of course a world government will step in to save the day. And the world government will end up with complete authourity willingly given to it by those who destroyed the old system. Like God said, people is stupid and self serving.

Is it even the law of the land or is it admiralty law?

Then why do they call it the Criminal Justice System?

left to an army ill prepared to deal with citizens unless they use their weaponry

This is what the police force has become.

So, you don't believe that we've already pretty much had a world government for some time?

What if this is paving the way for the Kingdom to come on earth as in heaven?

No idea, when it is set up to get them off on a technicality.

This is what the police force has become.
There perhaps. I mean, even until recently police in Britain carried only big sticks. Some of our UK friends may have a better handle on that, but of course increased violence and rebellious peoples have increased the need for more enforcement.

So, you don't believe that we've already pretty much had a world government for some time?
Yes we have.. it has always been those who control the purse strings.

What if this is paving the way for the Kingdom to come on earth as in heaven?
Of course. We must self destruct at our own hand and learn to take responsibility for our self serving ways which have been a problem since the Garden. Eventually all people may see the wisdom in loving all as self instead of having a personal agenda. We reap what we sow, and greed has ensured a poor crop consisting of tares.

Many people are saying Bible prophecies are being fulfilled, and I honestly agree. Look at the state of the world right now.

And a lot of people are saying the Rapture is happening soon, and after the True Christians are taken up, it will be too late to repent. Is this true?

How can I prepare for this? Keep reading my Bible? Go out and help people? Not do anything and patiently wait?

Also, how do I tell my family about their sin problems? I get embarrased to tell them, because I've told them already, and they yelled at me for it. Andrew Tiner said, if you're too cowardly to tell people about Jesus, how can you expect for Jesus to save you?
To prepare for the end of all things, whether there be a star trek related event or not, you can do the following things as part of your life style.

1. Confess sins when they begin as thoughts, this according to first John cleanses them.

2. Treat people with respect when they don't treat you with respect. This is a workout for your spirit. The brain in your body will hate it though.

3. Be thankful when you don't get what you asked for, especially when at a restaurant. It's okay to renege if you're allergic to what was served.

Live and un-drugged six years and countin'
Believer in Christ, yes, yes, the blessed fountain
Apologetic warrior, chalk one up for the visitors
Casting fierce some light into the shadows of midnight
To the underground we descend
With our whole generation to defend
Got a whole army on my case, got the devil in my face
'Cause that punk knows when is the end
Unite, ignite and spark a light to burn so bright
The sight will blind the blind of this our modern time
Oh yeah, I got a beef with the fence sitters
Tares among the wheat, the cop outs, the quitters
Cut from the branch fruitless, no good
Only one use and that's firewood
Pay no mind to the generation line
Forsake your sect and be color blind
The problem's not Hollywood, the problem's not Washington
The problem's a weak divided church of schizoids Christians
Never going back the the darkness I was damned in
Now I turn my back on the place that I was found in
Flick a match on Babylon, burn baby burn
Raised my mind for all this time and now it's your turn
Got enough gasoline and plenty ol' matches
Finally I'm free and I shake off the ashes
From the city of refuse, I refuse to pay dues
To you, not me, and none of the free and the few

Brings that song ^ to mind.

No one knows when the rapture will happen, so don't stress too much about it. Carry on as you would without this fear. Unconditionally love others, yourself, and God. Meditate & pray for peace of mind. Also, don't feel guilty for not telling others about your faith. Personally, I think that its good to mention it as it is important to you- but pressuring others may drive them away. It is not your responsibility to make others feel what you feel with God. We are all on our own path.

They all kept watch then fell asleep, had lamps, and trimmed their lamps, but only 1/2 of them prepared themselves by having extra oil.

I think there is more to this parable than you suggest.

Matthew 25 King James Version (KJV)
25 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

This passage is about the rapture!

And it is very simple! Five were wise and had oil (saved and filled with Spirit) and five were lost (no spirit and the bridegroom knew them not)

Anything else comes from extra biblial allegorizing.

What people here, in the Church's and the world; don't seem to understand, is the next prophesied event is to be a reset of our civilization to a similar degree to what happened in Noah's time. 2 Peter 3:1-7
All the nonsense about a 'rapture to heaven', worries about the 'mark of the beast', and 'prepping' for a hideout in the backwoods, is a wasted effort.
The Day of the Lord's fiery wrath will come suddenly; it will be the 'Lord coming as a thief', unexpectedly, shocking and terrifying the world. We will never be the same again.
More on this at; logostelos.info

The next prophesied event will iether be the Russian (Gog) invasion of Israel with its allies or the one world govt. of Daniel which is part of teh fourth beast.

The rapture are words fo comfort for the church as we will not have to worry about living in th ebackwoods or the mark of the beast which will come halfway through the 70th week of Daniel!

What does this look like in a virgin's life?

sorry to interrupt this conversation. 5 virgins had no oil (holy spirit), 5 had the Holy spirit and they entered the kingdom of heaven. Amen

Okay, how can we tell who has oil and who doesn't?

*Welcome to CF btw!

I believe its a parable comparing someone who goes to church just for the sake of going to church, doing all the 'stuff' or using the church so they and their family can get a better materialistic life. That would be the virgins without the holy spirit.

The ones with the Holy spirit want to spread the simplicity of the gospel to others in their church/community to glorify God with many souls saved from this earthly world, they'll not have any fear of spreading the gospel or a desire to do such things described above to get on in life and church. Amen

I am beginning to see that the wise virgins are those who actively light their lamps in order to signal to the Groom that they are ready.

And how do they show him this?

Revelation 19
"7Let us rejoice and celebrate and give Him the glory. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. 8She was given clothing of fine linen, bright and pure.” For the fine linen she wears is the righteous acts of the saints."

Rejoice

Celebrate

Give Him Glory

Recognize the time

Made Herself ready

What are the results?

She is clothed in fine linen

Bright linen

Pure linen

What is the linen?

The righteous acts of the saints

What is the oil

?

Maybe, maybe not. The rapture has been imminent since jesus ascended back to heaven! Though in my personal opinion, I think (once again I could be right or wrong) I tink te rapture may occur at a FEast of Trumpets, possibly even the first feast of trumpets once the temple is rebuilt!
