"
This is about the Constitution of the United States and the facts that lead to the President's violation of his oath of office. And as a Catholic, I resent your using the word 'hate' in a sentence that addresses me. I don't hate anyone."
"I pray for the President all the time," Pelosi said. "So don't mess with me when it comes to words like that."
When asked about her comments at a CNN town hall later Thursday, Pelosi again invoked her Catholic faith to explain her response.
"We were raised in the Catholic faith and the word 'hate a person' was just -- that just didn't happen," she said. "The word 'hate' is a terrible word. ... So for him to say that was really disgusting to me."
...growing up in an Evangelical Christian home, I was taught the same. To hate is a sin. Anyone else?
Yet today, I see a lot of memes from Christians on Facebook (and here as well) asserting that one must
hate the President if one is opposed to his policies or behavior.
