Dying for our sins was not the only reason Christ became a man. He had to learn how to succor them that are tempted (see Hebrews 2:18). He also grew in stature and wisdom (see Luke 2:52) There were other works given to Him by the Father.He came specifically to die for our sins. That was His purpose. He did obey God in everything and as such He is definitely our example of being one with the Father. He was, however, God, before, during and after the incarnation. He was fully God and fully man.
