I can appreciate the logical struggle you are expressing here.

In my mind, I separate two things.

I believed in Jesus and became born again, this started the new life.

Meanwhile, my old memories filled the space of the identity vaccuum because a baby doesn't know who they are.

So the first waypoint on that journey was seeing the difference between the New person I became when I was born again by the Holy Spirit, and the false identity created by the body using my memories. However, it might be different for you.

Living in the Spirit is living from the promptings of the new person you became when you were born again. The promptings of the Spiritual self are counter intuitive since it is like a rushing wind, and the old memory self is like the earth, impulsive and has instant gratification to advertise its existence.

You can "live in the Spirit only" when you have a firm identity of who this new creation is that came to being when you were born again by the Holy Spirit. Since each new creation has a unique purpose, the way to "discern" what your new creation is like may vary, since "the things of the spirit are hostile" to the instincts of the body.

Since it takes a long time to realize, I would recommend to continue in faith, faith is like breathing. Faith can also be translated as Trust when applied to relationships. If you have trust issues, focus on that. Sky walking can come later.

I know. I know what its like.

But, why should i let satan have his way? Why should give in to him? He wants us to run from God and jump into his arms. No way! However hard it gets i am not giving up on God.

I am done lying to myself (lying to yourself is the worst thing ever) I sometimes think maybe this i God punishing me for the ills I participated in in the past - and this is his way to *humble* me. But it is having catastrophic results cos it is putting me in a place to dwell further.

Please do not give up on the Lord or on life itself. There is a way out for you. It does not have to be like this. Put yourself in His hands and step off the cliff. He will be there. Absolute and utter submission is required.

I find God meets me where ever I'm at, even if it's in hell.

There are no easy answers, just hard work that seems futile for the longest time.

But it's not.

Takes forever for the field of the heart to be fertile for seed to grow,

then it takes forever to understand what Jesus meant by good seed

then it takes forever, to understand what to do once the seeds start growing.

I don't recall getting much help figuring out what I needed to do. If you can connect with a believer further along than yourself to help guide you in your path, it's beneficial .. but I didn't get that, God did it instead.

But being honest with yourself is a good place to start, I recognize that much in any situation.

Submission or surrender is a matured manifestation of trust or faith, so that may come later for you.

I see.

You need spiritual guidance. You need someone who can direct you, guide you and help discuss your feelings etc.

In the Catholic Church we have spiritual directors. Though, some are good whiles others not so good.

You are going through a very rough time in your life. Now is the easiest time for you to give in. This is what the devil wants. He is screaming at you to give up on God. Give up on everything. DONT!

Dig deep. Plant your feet firmly in your faith.

Think of Jesus, carrying His cross, in pain, everyone spitting in His face, whipping Him, laughing at Him. He carried on to more suffering and death. He knew what was coming. He knew He would rise again!

Same with us. We suffer. Some more than others. Some get it easy. Some, a TERRIBLE time. You have to look forward and see the finish line. Through all that life throws at us. Our trophy is heaven. Being with God. Surviving all that life throws at us. Why? Because we have FAITH. We love God! No matter the hardships.

The narrow road is extremely narrow! Be strong. You have friends here. You are not alone.

Sounds like you want some big dramatic spiritual event to happen to you to prove God's existence. But He wants you to show your faith first, to want something bigger and better than this world has to offer, and expect that it exists. Its up to you. Either live your life as if there is a good God at the end of the road, or live it as if everything you see and do now is all there is-no real purpose or meaning to it in the end. Grab what you can get while you can because tomorrow the end of the road comes, with nothing more.

Otherwise keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking and you will find. You have to want it.

I strongly suggest getting on a Bible reading plan. Start with the gospels and go from there.

YES MAKING EXCUSES FOR GOD! I hate when people do that! Making excuses for him like some dead beat father.
