It's about hearts, thoughts and actions. If one has sincerely accepted Jesus then He will being working in you and change all those things with you becoming more conformed to His image ... His ways ... and this happens over the entire course of your lifetime.
You will have ups, downs, good things and not so good things will be experienced ... but He is with in all of them ... and the difficult times ... He helps you get through them.
