  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sinning everyday is not the same sin everyday. If you do the same sin over and over again you are not repentant, you are practicing sin.

How about we worry about the logs in our own eyes and let the Lord be the Judge of those with specks in theirs.

So, you choose a different sin every day? That's an interesting work-around. - lol
Do you put it on a calendar to keep it all straight? How do you avoid repeats?

… Repentant to me is asking forgiveness and meaning it and doing your best not to do it again. ...
There is a lot of confusion surrounding repentance. Thanks for trying to define it.

First off, we don't need to ask for forgiveness. Our sins are already forgiven. This is something we can be thankful for. The price has already been paid in advance, past present and future, the sins of the whole world.

The word "repent" means to turn away from. When we repent, we turn away from our sin. The word "confession" means to admit to our wrongdoing. Here's the key scripture.

1 John 1:8-10
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

None of us know all the sins we are not supposed to do so it is possible to sin and not know it.

"we don't need to ask for forgiveness. Our sins are already forgiven. "

" 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness"

Seems a contradiction.

Right. It happens accidentally every day. - lol --- (oops)
As I said they are not the same sin as if they are they are practiced and you know what I said about that. Making fun of others posts doesn't make you any more righteous.

I take this seriously you obviously don't or is it you like to make fun of others posts?

Is it hard for you to keep track of all your sins? Maybe the calendar I suggested would help. You don't want any repeats, right? (looks like practice)

What is your definition of sin?

But you have to be quite organized to keep track of all that, right?

Right. How would that work?

Sorry. I find it amusing when you get tangled up in your own words.
I did give you some solid advice in post #1203.

You do dare.

The difference is you boast in your commission of so many sins, and say that those who boast in Christ are the ones self-boasting and the real liars.

I asked you those questions about what sins you say you confess to make a point. It back-fired. I'm sorry; I didn't think you really did any except against the understanding that me and Phil W share for the most part, except about unknown sin that Phil doesn't share with me. Read @ilovejcsog in the last two or three pages. That is what I thought you might say, but didn't. He or she has a great understanding of the power of Christ.

This is the post that is being misrepresented... IMO

The power of the Holy Spirit to be free from sin? I admit that God can do as God sees fit to do with me, in His time and not man’s. Does the Holy Spirit Of Christ have the power to make a man sinlessly Perfect? YES

What if iniquity were to rise in a man or angel for boasting in their sinless perfection, Carnal beauty and splendor? Isaiah 14:14 ; Ezekiel 28:15-17

What did the Holy Spirit Of Christ tell Paul? 2 Corinthians 12:9

Can people confess their sins among brethren that would condemn them and mock them for failing by saying they are not saved as saved means Sinlessly Perfect? NO

Do I bear false witness against people of Matthew 23, which the very Son bore witness against? Jude 1:9 ; NO

Is the Gospel about God Saving the sinlessly perfect? Matthew 9:13

Am I a sinner declared Sinless by the Sinless that became cursed by taking on all Sin, though He has never sinned, will never Sin? Yes

Do I desire to beat my fellow servants despite the enormous life debt of sin that He has forgiven? NO

Do I know my PLANK that I don’t dare reach to remove my brothers speck? Yes!!!

All Love in Jesus Christ to you. (End quote)

I answered you honestly to make a point. I’m honest before God and fear no man.

I have no desire to wear a mask to satiate the demands of humanity. I am free in Jesus Christ to Boast in Christ’s strength and “Confess” my weakness.

Do you have issue that we should be able to confess our sins one to another, as James writes? James 5:16

Is condemnation a characteristic of Jesus Christ? Romans 8:1

Again, I’m missing your point as I believe my words are being misrepresented... IMO.

The Statement planks in eyes seemed to be a bone of contention. Why is this so?

Is Paul wrong to boast/glory in his weakness in 2 Corinthians 12:9?

I’ll close with this Statement... a lot of sincere questions are being dodged by this doctrine in question, to feed the almighty “aha”.

All Love in Jesus Christ to you

No contradiction. Does the verse instruct you to ask for forgiveness?
We confess, he forgives.

People who willfully (practice) sin are not Christians. If it is willfully or practiced they are not repentant.

This is condemning all that are saved by Jesus Christ. It is a self condemning statement.

Would you allow me to proof this?

That is the point. "Elite status" is the norm for a born again Christian. It is not something that only a few can claim.

But then there are others who have been taught that "we will always sin," "we will always be in the flesh," and Scripture says the opposite. I just try to undo those backward teachings of defeatism that have brainwashed millions.

But then there are some of those millions that actually have never repented of their Sin, and have never been born again. Unfortunately it is those who absolutely cannot relate to the power of the Spirit. And I can relate to them as well. I was in the church being taught legalism and OT commandments for 23 years, and a total of 30 years in an unsaved state. I had no power over sin, and then one night I cried out to God to cleanse me of all desire to sin, because I couldn't stop. I see now that that was a true repentance, and God baptized me in the Holy Spirit. Overnight I had no desire to sin. I was born again. Then my life confirmed Scripture, and understanding came to God's word in a whole new way.

Jesus rejected “elite” status. Care to challenge this posit?

For the record, I’m not “in the flesh”. :)

As for the teaching that we will achieve sinless perfection... in the flesh... on this side of the matter... here and now... so to speak... it is unwise for a person to teach such things, let alone speak as if it were so. Honesty is a standard of God’s people.

All Love in Jesus Christ to you.
