You're definitely going have to explain why you think it was.
Go read the greek.

The interesting thing that all (to my knowledge) ancient mid east languages regardless of family, the use of masculine and feminine nouns and adjectives:

If there are all men, it is in the masculine.
If there are all women, it is in the feminine
if there are 10,000 women and ONE man, it is in the masculine.

That verse is in the feminine.

Do you think it was dictated word-for-word as Muslims claim about the Koran?
If you study how and where the Koran came from.. it is an interesting story. An angel dictated it to Mohammad but he didn't want to record it.. the angel choked him several times before he agreed to listen.

However, it was passed down, generation after generation before being written down from the memory of these stories.

Written in the feminine.

Never once does Paul say to get more self control in that area. Those who have the gift of celibacy do not have that problem.
Did Paul not say that it was best for a man to get married unless he was going to be so involved in his work that he neglected the husband and farther roles?

If I want to understand the New Testament's 1st century Judaism, I will rely upon the standards of real scholarship and not the presumed religious authority of those that deny the Messiah.

Those in my religious denomination are not ignorant of this sort of background information and we certainly try to be open-minded, but at the same time ,we have confidence in our own confessional identity.
You missed my point... I didn't say go to an Orthodox Jewish person today who denies Yeshua. I said, having a basic working knowledge of the culture of that day along with an understanding of certain word phrases, idioms, and methods of interpretation will go a long way. And if you meant that all Jews denied him... remember, the week before he will killed "by the Elite" there were many Jews lining the streets saying, "Hosanna" as he passed by. :)

Do you have them? I would love to see them.

And which books exactly? Are you including the Apocalypse of Peter for example? Or just the books in the King James translation?

I believe the King James (Cambridge Edition circa 1900) is the divinely inspired Word of God for our day. For if we do not have a nailed down Word of God to believe in then we can judge or guess (we become the arbiters of truth) as to what the original language says or hope that Strong and his buddies got it right. For every time I doubted the KJV, it has proven to shown me otherwise that it is the perfect Word of God for our day. For tons of translators were used in the making of the KJV unlike any other translation to this day. Granted, I do not think we should use the KJV alone to understand God's Word. It is written in 1600's English that is very confusing sometimes, so I would encourage others to look at Modern Translations, the context, cross references, and to pray to the Lord for the understanding. But a person should have a final word of authority in a language that folks can clearly understand today (i.e. English, which is currently the world language). For we can look up the origin of words in the English without any religious bias.

Then I don't think we are disagreeing all that much. I'm not arguing that a particularly "Greek" way of thinking is correct, in fact (and seems to underpin alot of @Tree of Life 's assumptions). But at the same time, I don't believe its correct to insist that a bronze or iron age perspective on the Scriptures is the controlling hermeneutical grid of interpretation, either.

I don't recall it being worded like that.

I challenge you to find another holy book besides the Bible that has prove itself to be divine in origin ten times over.

You can check out evidences that back up God's Word in being of divine origin here:

I don't think a Christian can deny God's Word (the Bible) as being from God... no.
Once a person has tasted the good word of the Lord, they are forever changed by His Word and they realize it is a holy book. This is not something that man can reveal to you, but it is only from God.

Then what do we do with all the different Christians claiming to have understanding through the spirit but they disagree?

The solution is for them to BELIEVE God's Word in what it says. Faith. If folks believe what His Word says, then they will act upon it. The more we act upon God's Word, the more it will change our heart and open our eyes to the truth of what it says.

Pick your favorite flavor and run with it. Oh, and realize that not everyone is going to agree with the way you believe....and don't damn them to hell and infer they aren't Christian when they don't.

IMO, yes.....yes it is.
Everybody cannot be 100% right and have different interpretations. And how arrogant is to say well your wrong and I’m right? Again I can’t imagine the intentions were to be this confusing.

"I say (I, not the Lord) that..."
- Paul.
Who is speaking God or Paul?

John 11:51
"And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;"

Sometimes, men can speak words from on High unawares.

1 Corinthians 7:25
"Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: but I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be trustworthy."

So Paul is saying that there is no definitive teaching (from Torah) on these matters, but, as an Apostle, he speaks.

"One phrase he repeatedly uses refers to that source: "It is written." He doesn't mean written in his own letters or in the gospel accounts of Yeshua's life. He means written in the "Scriptures": the Law, the Prophets, and the Writings — what later Jewish tradition named "Tanakh." In 1 Corinthians 14:21 he cites a passage from the book of Isaiah, which he calls "the Law.""

I know some on this thread know all about Apostolic authority.

Nor when the serpent spoke in secret did he realize his words would add to the canon but, such is Light, that it exposes darkness...and this is His Word.

The Word speaks through His Apostles, even if they are unaware.

Then what do we do with all the different Christians claiming to have understanding through the spirit but they disagree?

God's Word claims that it is perfect (Psalms 12:6) (Psalms 119:140) (Proverbs 30:5) and that it will be preserved for all generations (Psalms 12:7) and it will stand forever (Isaiah 40:8) (1 Peter 1:25). Therefore, seeing Scripture plainly states these facts, it then becomes an issue of a test of your faith in God's Word (See the test the devil gave to Eve in Genesis 3:1); For the Bereans were more noble because they compared the spoken Word of God with the written Word of God (Acts of the Apostles 17:11). In other words, if the Bereans thought the written Word was corrupt in some way they would have no way of really knowing if the spoken Word of God was true or not.
