There has Been a few times that I'm pretty sure I've experienced something like this. It's interesting to actually see it talked about in this video:
The thing about demons is that they are spirits without bodies. We saw this when Jesus cast the legion of demons out of the man in the graveyard, that they asked to go into the herd of pigs. So, demon activity is more detected in the behaviour and conduct of people, and when that happens in churches it certainly can confuse people and cause problems.Sometimes I wonder if they try to doppelgänger around the Churches to confuse people or cause problems.
Animals wouldn't surprise me either.

Ha! When I mentioned animals, I was tempted to mention a tomcat and a he-goat I've known, but thought it might be too silly for what was essentially a serious post.Demon Great White Shark - ouch.
There's a telephone pole on my street that I personally regard as suspicious.
It could.Couldn't a Fallen Angel appear as a man though kind of like Holy Angels can ?
It could.
I think what @Oscarr is describing is more like demonic influence (which could extend to possession) of human persons. Rather than a demon actually impersonating a person (such as false teachers, etc.). In the case of an impersonation, it would be relatively short-lived.

There doesn't seem to be any reference in the OT or the NT where this has actually happened. People have had visions of both, but no actual physical appearances. If we are saying that fallen angels are demons, then as a spirit without a body, a demon has to inhabit a body to work through a physical appearance. But perhaps others may provide more useful information.Couldn't a Fallen Angel appear as a man though kind of like Holy Angels can ?
I understand. I wasn't meaning impersonation, but more of influence or obsession to teach doctrines that the Scripture describes as "doctrines of demons".It could.

Not examples of demons doing this in Scripture (that I can recall), but Scripture speaks of Holy Angels appearing as men. There doesn't seem to be any reference in the OT or the NT where this has actually happened. Never heard of that story.A Quote from Fr. Seraphim Rose's Book : "Orthodoxy and the religion of the Future"
Orthodoxy and the religion of the Future - иеромонах Серафим (Роуз)
A demonic “kidnapping” quite close to UFO “abductions” is described in the Life of St. Nilus of Sora, the 15th-century founder of Skete life in Russia. Some time after the Saint’s death there lived in his monastery a certain priest with his son. Once, when the boy was sent on some errand, “suddenly there came to him a certain strange man who seized him and carried him, as if on the wind, into an impenetrable forest, bringing him into a large room in his dwelling and placing him in the middle of this cabin, in front of the window.” When the priest and the monks prayed for St. Nilus’ help in finding the lost boy, the Saint “came to the boy’s aid and stood before the room where the boy was standing, and when he struck the window-frame with his staff the building was shaken and all The Unclean Spirits fell to the earth.” The Saint told The Demon to return the boy to the place from which he had taken him, and then became invisible. Then, after some howling among the Demons, “The Same Strange One seized the boy and brought him to the Skete like the wind... and placing him on a haystack, He became invisible.” After being seen by the monks, “the boy told them everything that happened to him, what he had seen and heard. And from that time this boy became very humble, as if he had been stupefied. The priest out of terror left the Skete with his son.”
(Chapter 6)
Never heard of that story.
I wonder if it explains something I've heard hinted at. I haven't asked here (that I remember) because ... well, it puts me in mind of trying to verify gossip and it seemed better to let it go.
I have heard that Fr Seraphim Rose had strange teachings about UFOs and/or aliens ... seems like some folks think he believed in them and taught about them? Seems odd from an Orthodox pov. But I just dismissed it. I wonder if such things like this have confused people?
I wonder what the book overall is about? I've avoided Fr Seraphim early on, since my priest at first told me to, but later he blessed me to read whatever I want several years ago. Since then I've only read "the Soul after Desth" from among Fr Seraphim's writings though.
