Is Continuationism or Cessationism a hard doctrine to prove?

Scripture is God's word. Anything else is not and possibly the word of the Devil.
Repeating yourself is not a rebuttal of the logic. My same words apply to this last comment. Here again is what I said (you might want to actually read it this time around)

You're accusing YOURSELF !!! You had to rely on some knowledge-tool, perceived reliable/authoritative, to accept Scripture. By your own words, this makes you a devil-follower!

I'm sorry you bought into the foolish lie called Sola Scriptura, but calling yourself (and everyone else) a devil-follower doesn't mitigate the problem.

When you start raising the dead and healing amputated limbs, then claim to have the gifts.

Deflection and evasion. Par for the course.

That last post was dealing with the inherently self-contradictory nature of Sola Scriptura. Having no solution, you try to steer the discussion as to whether JAL currently has the power to heal the sick and raise the dead.

Sola Scriptura is an epistemological nonsense that God wants no part of, and therefore you're not doing Him any favors by clinging to it. Only a major disservice.

You are only causing division that needs repaired. You are trying to push off your "gifts" as the originals without any demonstration verifying they are the same.
I'm causing division? That's rich.

Do I have a problem with you not speaking in tongues? (nope)
Do you have a problem with me speaking in tongues? Seems so.
("... trying to push off your "gifts" as the originals...")
Which position is divisive?

You claimed earlier, if I remember correctly, that all the prophecies that came forth while the original Apostles were alive were used to complete the NT scriptures. I explained the statistical unlikelihood of that claim. Two or three prophecies times the number of churches times the number of gatherings. Were not all those prophecies (or most) the word of God? Where are they?

If you are going beyond the written word, you are listening to the Devil.
You would tie God's hands from running His church? Meaning, suppose he wants yo you to do something right now. Must He wait until you HAPPEN to arrive at that very conclusion exegetically, perhaps at seminary? And what are the odds of THAT? An authoritative-sounding Voice (Jn 10:27) makes a heck of a lot more sense, nay, it's the ONLY thing that makes sense.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” (2 Timothy 3:16–17) (KJV 1900)

If scripture thoroughly furnishes believers, why chase after voices in your head thinking it is God, or in anybody else's head?

They were the NT words that I believe when written and collected made up part of the NT canon. What other NT word was there? But they no longer exist and the canon is complete. They were piecemeal, the canon is the full revelation.

Pentecostals divided themselves off from the rest of the church in the 1900s. They did not exist before that time. They are a man made sect and faction.

No. My coffee consumption is way below normal.

Are you a doesn't-understand-the-phrase-"this-scroll"-ist?
You are a hyper-literalist if you think a major difference exists in the content of a scroll or book.

Woah there you are very mistaken, i received the Holy spirit in a pentecostal church as well as other things. You shouldn't talk against the Holy spirit, there are pentecostal churches that give pentecostals a bad name?, yes, but don't say the rest are not from God because you are talking against God himself.

All Christians have the Holy Spirit. You think you have more than they in the way of "gifts" nobody can produce, just talk about.

Right. Precedent only goes so far.

Imagine the Israelites at the Red Sea. "Nope, we aren't crossing the Red Sea. No precedent for that."

Or the Apostles in the upper room at the outpouring. Must be the devil, no precedent for that.

Or the gentiles speaking in tongues at the house of Cornelius. Nope, no precedent for that.

Wow. Did you read what you wrote?
Your rebuttal seems to agree with me.

The NT canon is a selection of works. Chosen from the whole body of early Christian writings. It is only complete in the sense that selection is done. It is the agreed upon set of books that were "voted" in. The book of James almost didn't make the cut. I don't think God is done speaking. He hasn't abandoned us as orphans to find out own way.
