I took the “in the church” thing to mean they were reading Tarot cards on Saturday, sitting in church next to everybody else on Sunday... Not that they were actually using the church for their rites.

Exactly how am I "being passive"? I'm not sire what you mean. As a Christian I certainly am not a "lover of evil."

Don't worry about what man or anyone may think of you in the name of the Christ. We and everyone have to decide thier own mind whether they are a lover of evil or righitouness, myself too. Christ taught the same thing in his time. Watch out for yourselves.

In response to the OP:

Jesus says we are to pray, do good, and to love our enemies. But we should not accept known error, either. I believe we should be focused on that which is good and we shouldn't be on any witch hunts. If we happen to discover someone who is a witch, we should of course confront them about it. If they will not hear you, then take another respected person in the church and talk to them. If this person will not hear each of you two, then let the spiritual leaders know about it so that person is not welcome unless they repent of their sins to the Lord Jesus Christ. This should all been done with love for the person and hatred over the sin. But ultimately God will take care of evil in this world. Our job is to love the Lord, and love others.

Also, I think it is less likely to encounter such people if one involves themselves in biblical fellowship (like in the way the early church believers gathered). House fellowship among believers only. I mean, I get it. It's not easy to gather in each other's homes, but it is far more rewarding. There are no politics, no dazzling shows, and no unbelievers there worshiping alongside you waiting to do an alter call to accept Jesus maybe ten years down the road or never. For what fellowship does light have with darkness?

Anyways, I say this all with love and with the hope that it might be helpful to you.

May the Lord bless you and your family.

OK. I was reading it as saying that they were performing their rites in the church.

But I asked for an explanation of your earlier comments. I'm trying to figure out what you meant. How am I being passive or loving evil?

BTW, Wiccans are essentially nature worshipers. Contrary to popular belief they do not sacrifice children or animals.

I knew a former Wiccan who claimed differently than you. She didn't get into particulars, because she wasn't too keen on the idea of a long prison term.

More Icons of Simon Magus falling to his death :

Simon Magus - Wikipedia

• Cyril of Jerusalem (346 A.D.) in the sixth of his Catechetical Lectures prefaces his history of the Manichaeans by a brief account of earlier heresies: "Simon Magus, he says, had given out that he was going to be translated to heaven, And Was Actually Careening Through The Air In A Chariot Drawn By Demons when Peter and Paul knelt down and prayed, and their prayers brought him to earth a mangled corpse."

Witchcraft is pretty common place in our secular world today. It is a part of the culture and appears to be just harmless fantasy fun (according to the world). You can see the acceptance of witchcraft (magic) in commercials, books, movies, board games, role playing games, comic books, etc. During the time of Halloween, it is okay for your kids to endorse witchcraft by dressing up on a holiday where others promote witches by decorative means and or they dress up as witches. But just beyond the veil of the world's fantasy world, people fail sometimes to look and see that witchcraft is very real thing that is practiced today. We as believers should understand that we are in a spiritual battle, and the only way we can overcome ourselves and to help those who are in darkness (witchcraft or other sins) is by always walking in the light of Jesus Christ, and pointing them to the light of His love.

My post was not meant to be an exhaustive treatise on the subject. But I am curious as to what passage in Scripture you are using, though.

Side Note:

Oh, and I grew up in the 80's as a kid. I am grateful to the Lord for His choosing this time period for me to live in as a child because it helped me to see a period of time when things were going through a major transitional change.

Anyways, may God bless you.

Those worship Christ by Image or by Faith. You decide.

I'm not understanding what you are trying to say.

Are you saying that people who have icons of The Lord Jesus Christ are Pharisees ?

Please just come out and say plainly what you mean.

maybe it's good if someone who practices witchcraft comes to church .. they may hear the gospel and come to believe in Jesus.
Although I'd be surprised if they were strongly into it if their demons would let them go into a church in case they did hear the Truth about Him.
If they were there with evil intent I imagine the worship singing would not be a pleasant experience.
if worried about it or a particular person or group, get a few people to pray with you specifically about it. The fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
