Insults are not becoming of the saints; And that is not the actual verse or passage I was looking for. Can you say you know all things in God's Word?

Anyways, I couldn't help but to notice your avatar; If you are against witchcraft, then why are promoting DC comics whereby they promote witchcraft?

When I used to indulge in secular entertainment: One character that comes to mind when I watched DC cartoon shows (like Young Justice) and read the comics is a character called "Zatanna" (Which almost sounds like Satan). How is this not a problem for you?

These practices are real, from the "most benign" to the blackest and most advanced "art". Some might suggest that Wicca is harmless. I assure you, NO form of witchcraft is harmless and no "magic" is "white" or good.

ALL of this which is done by witches and sorcerers is of demons, of unclean spirits, and of the enemy. Every bit of it; there is none of it which could be excused.

Those who practice it aren't particularly deadly in terms of the entities they call on; we are secured from that by God's protection. Their danger comes of their words and temptations.

If the church is a good and God-centered church, and Christ dwells there with the believers, what the witch summons is powerless. Her words though? They can mislead those who are young in the faith, who lack the full armor of God. Those who are saved and who wear this armor are protected, and won't suffer a witch to live among them, nor should they.

I am not promoting Dc comics. Or any evil for that matter. I just like the the fact that it shows how good Can overcome evil. And as it shows.

Jesus is the light and the way. We should focus on the love of Jesus and His good ways to shine out the darkness.

That person is full of baloney and/or pulling your leg. Wiccans are a lot of things, but doing things that are violent or abusive or would get them arrested and jailed in the name of their faith isn’t one of them.

Unless it was doing lots of pot. That I can see. Maybe animal rights or environmental causes... If somebody said a Wiccan got stoned and chained themselves to a tree to prevent deforestation, that I’d see.

But otherwise, Wiccans believe all the gods we as a human race worship are facets of the same God, so they hold to the same basic golden rules the rest of us do.

But if evil is on the side of good (like Zatanna being one of the Justice League members alongside Superman and Super-girl), then how is that good? Superman and Super-girl do not appear to have a problem with witchcraft because they are working alongside a witch (within the JLA) and treat her as one of the good guys. That's the problem. You are promoting a character who has no problems with witchcraft (Which was a sin that was so serious in the OT that it required the death of the person who practiced it).

Anyways, the focus should always be Jesus to resolve these kinds of issues.

I have been a fan of Superman and Supergirl since 1980s. And I don't feel any Satanic influence. If I watch Christine movie of Stephen King. Then that is another matter.

I used to think the same way. But the Lord opened my eyes to the truth one day on this particular issue. One passage that I would suggest to pray over more is 1 John 2:15-17. For that passage was helpful for me in letting go of the things of this world. We cannot see the problem with the things of this world sometimes until we let them go.

"Just" a thou shalt not? A thou shalt not is arguably more impactful than calling something an abomination.

Things like witchcraft are largely covered by the first "thou shalt not" of the 10 commandments. Witchcraft is false, fraudulent, deception, a lie. The Devil is the father of lies. Witchcraft doesn't have to be real to be a real problem.

If you have the perfect faith, pray that you do not fall. In that time in the last days there wil be a great failing away. From Christ.

In reading the comments the answer clearly depends on what one means by witchcraft. And the ideas obviously vary greatly. Here is my take:

The goal/effect of witchcraft is to influence the mind and by extension actions away from God. I believe biblically there can be different "levels", if you will, of witchcraft.

The Bible likens witchcraft to the sin of rebellion. If that's the definition, then heck yeah I've seen it in my church. How do you deal with it? Same as any other sin, on a case by case bases, led by the Spirit and the Word. It depends on if their sin is effecting others in the church or not. I recently had someone "praying" for another person in church after a service in a way that clearly went against our order. This person was trying to do a deliverance without permission and was yelling at the one they were praying for, "you have a secret!" in front of everyone else. We put an end to that very quickly, brought correction, and unsurprisingly the person causing the behavior didn't like it and left.

Some say that Christians can unknowingly perform witchcraft by uttering "word curses". This is something that we have probably all experienced at some point. It is when someone (often someone in a position of trust) says something negative about us that profoundly impacts us and shapes the direction of our lives. If you can think back to an incident or two from when you were young where someone said something negative to you, or about you, that to this day you can still remember vividly, some call that a word curse and thus witchcraft. Regardless if it is witchcraft or not, it isn't good and healing needs to happen. So, in that case, yeah I see that all the time in church and address it in private prayer/counseling time.

Then there's the stuff that everyone thinks of when they think of witchcraft. Openly making potions or casting spells and all that related stuff. I've had experience with that in our church as well. I've had someone leave a dead weasel on our front steps (clearly placed there). I've had people message the church and identify themselves as satanists or witches and ask about attending. And recently had someone attend 3 or 4 times that clearly fancied himself a warlock. He was very distracting during service. He would start up extremely odd theological conversations (even by this forums standards, lol) with anyone who would listen. He would leave odd "tokens" at the church (a common thing for witches/warlocks to do I've learned)... small trinkets that he presumably "cursed". How did we deal with that? 1) serious prayer against it & removing the tokens, 2) we loved on the guy, but used the name of Jesus around him a lot. 3) we made preparations to keep an eye on him and call the police to have him removed at the first sign of trouble. 1 & 2 seemed to do the trick cause after awhile he gave up and stopped coming. I would have preferred him getting saved, but if he wasn't open to that then this was the next best outcome.

Zatanna is a magician, not a witch.

Praise God that His Holy Spirit has given you insight into the evil around you. There are NO witches, Satanists, etc. in the Church! That is, the Body of Christ. Be careful not to confuse the manmade concept of the local church with the one true living Church, which is the Bride of Christ. Anyone can be a member of a local church and this includes those who yield to the spirit of this world (Satan and his many followers). Yet, only those who are spiritually reborn (Born Again John 3:3) through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ can be a member of the true Church.

If you are a Born Again Christian it is important to know that this world is ruled by Satan and his followers. “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).

Ok now I understand your interpretation of "witchcraft". These traits are common among Christians who are in a flesh led congregation. Especially if the administration/leadership are co-equal.

Characteristics of corruption: When greed, dishonesty, fraudulent activity, deceitfulness etc. are displayed by people mostly in power.
Characteristics of division: When there appears to be disunity among the congregation due to power struggles, doctrinal differences and most importantly lack of LOVE.
Characteristics of destruction: Is the slow and painful process of watching a congregation die from within.

So if this is what you are experiencing in your congregation then it is not witchcraft it is the culmination of actions within a group that has quenched the Holy Spirit thus allowing things of the flesh to drive its motives.
If in fact it is witchcraft, this can be easily rebuked by ANY Holy Spirit filled Christian. God is more powerful than the devil. Pray, pray pray and seek the Lords advice in your matter of concern as this is not an environment to which you can be nurtured.
    Blessings

I find it quite interesting people with Icons of Church father's denying the reality of witchcraft. Believing in witchcraft and believing in magic are two different things which the Father's are clear in explaining. Real "magic" is sorcery through communication and alliance with demons. It is a very real thing and I have seen it's affects. Do not be deceived into thinking the enemy has no power in Earth. Many "witches" allow themselves to be possessed by powers they think they control. The results they believe to be magic is simply the direct workings of demons. Some schools of magic openly admit this is what they do such as Jewish magic which is based off of the summoning and binding of demons. Other more "pagan" schools think that magic is its own entity but this is a deception. Go to India and see pure paganism in action and you will feel the evil behind it and see the reality of demons.
